🎶 A free lunchtime concert to lift your spirits

Take a break this Tuesday and head to Lauderdale House for a lunchtime recital with classical soprano Talia Nabarro.

🎵 From opera and art song to traditional music and musical theatre, Progressions of Love: A Recital in Four Movements explores the different stages of love - from first love and connection to heartbreak, self-acceptance and finding fulfilment in yourself.

🪩 What a vibe! Last Saturday the Inverness Street Bloc Party 2026 returned and our Camden community did not disappoint❤️

The rain came down, the music turned up and Inverness Street was filled with dancing, smiling faces and that unmistakable Camden spirit. ☔️🕺

HUGE LOVE to our incredible line-up who brought the energy and the tunes that kept our audience dancing through the rain: .vee and our host

And it felt especially fitting to celebrate on the eve of the 60th anniversary of Notting Hill Carnival, a celebration rooted in Caribbean culture, creativity, music and community. ❤️💛💚

Camden has its own important connection to that story. Claudia Jones, journalist, activist and community leader, organised London’s first indoor Caribbean Carnival in 1959 in Camden Town Hall, helping lay the foundations for the Carnival we know today.

Thank you to everyone who came down and supported this event. And thank you to for capturing the energy so brilliantly. 📸

🧵 Loved My Escape? Discover more incredible work from our Camden Artist Network!

Threads of Places brings together five Camden-based artists at Swiss Cottage Gallery, exploring what connects us, not despite our differences, but because of them. ❤️

Through photography, painting, textiles, film and installation, Threads of Places celebrates the many stories that shape Camden’s community.

Artwork was selected from an Open-Call for proposals from the Camden Artist's Network.

Today marks 60 years of Carnival—a vibrant celebration of Caribbean culture, creativity, music and community.

Did you know that one of the key figures behind Carnival's origins was Claudia Jones? The journalist, activist and community leader, Claudia Jones organised London's first indoor Caribbean Carnival in 1959. Created as a celebration of Caribbean culture and resilience, it laid the foundations for what would later become the world-famous Notting Hill Carnival.

This has been a really special one for us. We’ve been blown away by the creativity and outstanding talent of all 35 artists who took part - and these joyous selfies say it all. It’s been such a privilege to see their work out in the open and celebrate the people who make Camden’s creative community so special.

A huge thank you to every artist who shared their work, their stories and their creativity with us. We’re so proud of you all.

TOMORROW 🧡

Tomorrow, we’re dancing on the eve of Carnival – and celebrating a special part of Camden’s history.

In 1959, pioneering human rights campaigner, political activist and journalist Claudia Jones organised the first Caribbean Carnival in London at what was then St Pancras Town Hall, now Camden Town Hall.

That Carnival helped pave the way for the Notting Hill Carnival we know and love today – a legacy of music, culture and community activism that continues to this day.

And that spirit is at the heart of the Inverness Street Bloc Party Disco House theme.

Disco was about more than music. It was about freedom, fashion and finding community – all things that have helped shape Camden’s club culture.

🎨 MY ESCAPE: MEET THE ARTISTS – Clare Barstow

What does escape mean to you?

Sometimes, you don’t need to go far to get away. You just need a patch of grass, a bit of sunshine and time to daydream. 🌿

For Kilburn-based artist Clare Barstow, Camden’s parks are the perfect place to escape the pressures of everyday life – and to let her imagination wander.

Her My Escape artwork, Daydream, is inspired by those moments spent lying in the grass at Kilburn Grange Park.

We love seeing our Neighbourhood of Culture, Kilburn, being represented in this way – bringing a less well-known piece of the borough to a public space for everyone to enjoy.

🎨 MY ESCAPE: MEET THE ARTISTS – Katy Horwood

What does escape mean to you?

For textile artist Katy Horwood (), it can be found walking along Regent’s Canal through King’s Cross. Katy sees the fascinating contrast between the area’s industrial past and its greener, softer present – from the historic Gasworks to the foliage lining the towpath. 🌿

Her My Escape artwork captures this changing landscape through watercolour, embroidery and appliqué. For Katy, the slow, meditative process of stitching is an escape in itself, while the canal offers a quiet haven in the middle of the city.

Katy is a Camden-based textile artist who returned to her love of embroidery during lockdown, creating work inspired by nature, place and the environment. She also runs creative workshops, sharing the joy of textiles with others.

Her work is one of 35 artworks created by members of the Camden Artist Network for My Escape, now taking over the art benches at King’s Cross.

🌿 Next time you’re in King’s Cross, take a wander along the canal and see the area through Katy’s eyes – you might spot a few familiar details.

🚨 4 DAYS TO GO: RICKY MORRISON 🚨

Four days to go until the Inverness Street Bloc Party! Now meet Camden fave Ricky Morrison ❤️ legendary DJ, producer, founder of Catch A Groove Records and a huge part of the UK house music story.

Ricky lived in Camden in the late 1980s, when the area was at the heart of a rapidly evolving club culture. He was a regular DJ across some of Camden’s most iconic venues (Dingwalls, the Jazz Cafe, KOKO, The Cross and the Electric Ballroom) and became resident at High On Hope at Dingwalls alongside Norman Jay MBE.

From those Camden dancefloors, Ricky went on to play clubs and festivals around the world, perform alongside house music legends and create music as part of M&S Productions, including the huge ‘Salsoul Nugget’.

But before the international stages, there was Camden. And that’s what we’re bringing back to Inverness Street.

A celebration of the music, the people and the community that have always made Camden’s music culture what it is. This party is for you!
