“Why did we leave them alone?”

We built new lives,
searched for peace,
chased tomorrow.
But deep inside,
We carry a guilt that cannot be peeled away from our hearts.
A battle fed with hopes and beliefs by all of us.
Yet somehow, we survived
while they became the victims.
And now we live on
inside our own small, selfish bubbles.
Mullivaikkal - 17 years now - remains the question
We can never answer:
How did we leave them alone?
