Behind the scenes at the production studio with Palazzo Plaster Malta, one of their newest handcrafted wallcoverings.

Shown here in Espresso, Malta is created by their artisans using a custom plaster compound that’s applied similarly to traditional Venetian plastering techniques.

Metallic pigment is used to create subtle shimmer and dramatic shifts in color as the light changes.

The result? The look and authenticity of real Venetian plaster in a flexible, durable, and cleanable wallcovering.

“An office for a busy creative brain - the visual impact was a deliberate distraction technique for this client and a core part of the brief.

Take a look at some of the detail on the following photos. The ceiling wallpaper was a bespoke design with fragments of the Sistine Chapel and cherubs - fun and joy! Our wallpaper expert did a mathematically and technically phenomenal job. I didn’t ask how - just watched in awe!

Instead of timber panelling we chose a distressed copper panel to work with the ceiling and the revamped desk base.

The gold paint was a Mylands theatrical paint - it took a fair bit of experimentation to get this right.

The fabrics and the making of curtains and roman blinds were unusually subtle in the great scheme of things. As elsewhere in the house they were made beautifully using both trimmed and piped borders - detail, detail, detail - that’s what makes a room design so unique and clearly bespoke.”
