I know this post seems a little over the top, but I do believe that this first step of skincare routine can make or break it. Using products to take off make up or just wash face that are too stripping and harsh can damage the skins protective barrier and dry out the skin which can lead to irritation and even acne.
To make sure I don’t strip my skin in this vital skincare step, I look for ingredients like glycerin and ceramides as they keep skin healthy and hydrated.

It’s important to understand your skin types, because more often then not we can deal with a few different skin types on our face. Some areas my be dry, some oily or acne prone. And so it important to treat them accordingly and not the same.
Unless of course you got lucky and got 1 skin type. Can I have that pls 😄

Trust your skin, it knows what it’s doing. Of course we all need to give it a little help when it comes to acne, ageing, sun protection... But most of the time we over strip it and and over load it and unsurprisingly we damage it.
So give your skin time, give your products time to work and most importantly treat your skin gently.

Creating skincare cocktails up till recently has been very popular. And I have to admit I was one one those people that made a few skincare cocktails as well. But I came to realise that making them can dilute the strength of each product also when formulators made these beautiful products they never had in mind of them being mixed in a skincare cocktail. So they are not meant to work that way.
I just think taking time and layering your skincare products will give you the best results in a long run.
