Love Island doesn’t need bigger twists. It needs a better philosophy.
The show’s biggest challenge isn’t declining ratings—it’s that audiences have changed. Viewers are looking for emotional intelligence, accountability, and contestants who feel empowered rather than disposable.
In this video, I explore how ITV could refresh Love Island by rethinking some of its core mechanics. What if women had greater agency in the dating process? What if the show rewarded genuine connection over humiliation? What if twists created suspense without undermining contestants’ dignity?
Reality TV has always evolved with culture. The question is whether Love Island can evolve with its audience.
I’d love to know what changes you’d make. If you were the executive producer, what would your ideal season look like?
