Made from plastic bottles collected in Haiti
THE IDEA – We thought it was high time jumpsuits paid attention to the basic needs of the female body. This design was insired by that third trip to the bathroom when you just don’t feel like stripping down to your skivvies so you take that oh-so-risky shot by pulling your romper to the side and praying your aim is better than your decision-making. The solution was simple: a wrap jumpsuit featuring a waist belt that can be untied and dropped down revealing the derriere. No more clutching your naked chest, no more jumpsuit around your ankles on the precarious floor.
THE EFFORT – This company started with one simple idea and was shaped by a much greater mission. To create a fashion label with integrity that not only allows women to p*e with ease, but will actually make people’s lives better. We work with all recycled material; everything from business cards, the jumpsuits themselves, to the packaging they are delivered in. We have partnered with Thread International as our fabric supplier. Thread is an incredible company that creates fabric from plastic bottles collected in Haiti. They have created thousands of jobs in developing countries and we are proud to be a part of their efforts. Tom Foolery uses recycled jersey in all jumpsuits to make comfort look sexy and effortless. Each jumpsuit is sewn by myself, Shannon Ashford, in Los Angeles. From there the jumpsuits are shipped out in recycled tissue paper and envelopes. From top to bottom our goal is to set an example of transparency and responsibility in the fashion industry.
