A complex and fascinating antique piece of woven silk which was part of an Indonesian sarong. Made into a cushion by me.
It was a journey to find a way to make the most of this wonderful piece of cloth.
The hand embroidered French knot flowers in subtle red and green colours definitely livened up the two black borders, and I was very excited to find the vintage green & black bow tape.

Patented in 1892. I bought this original pattern more years ago than I care to remember and finally got round to having it printed.
The first printing we did was a mistake and came out a lot smaller than the original, but I love it (and therefore we have two sizes!)
My favourite thing is to turn them to look underneath and find their little paws! 🐾

They are hand stitched together and stuffed very thoroughly with lavender.

You can also buy the sew-your-own kit (only in the large size).

Antique Chinese silk embroidery carefully cut away from its black silk ground. The motifs then arranged on the silk damask back cloth, decorated with 19th century Chinese silk woven ribbon, brass pins, old square sequins (hand cut) and some very nice beads to finish.

Will be available in 3 sizes, this being the large, followed by the medium and small (not yet finished).

I was rather pleased with it!
So different from the robust Christmas baubles I usually indulge in!
