o.f.ficina is a label for handmade products from London using locally sourced natural materials whenever possible: wool, cotton, linen, silk & fabrics. Unique pieces inspired by tradition, love for quality natural materials, respect of nature and passion for style. Looking forward to the future whilst still taking glances back to the past. The choice of the woodpecker is because I come from Marche

, an Italian region, land of Piceni and Piceni tribe used the woodpecker or "picus" in Latin as their totem. The picus was the sacred bird of Mars, the god of war. Piceni were an italic tribe who lived in Picenum in the northern Adriatic coastal plain of ancient Italy dating back more than 2000 years. From the Greek and roman tradition literature when some Sabinen tribe migrated in the north direction was the Green Woodpecker, "picus", that had perched on the banner during the journey and this is said to be the reason for the name piceni....and the tradition continue.....
