It has been my utter pleasure to run Dressed In History for nearly six years now. Sourcing and restoring vintage and antique clothing will always be my passion, but it is now necessary for me to realign running the shop with my present life. When I first started, I was a dissatisfied costumier in the film industry and DIH was my escapism. Fast forward six years and costume is no longer my full time job. Things dramatically changed for me when first the pandemic hit, and then Brexit was forced on UK sellers. I am now a full time nurse and as you can imagine, this takes up much of my time and energy! I am returning to running DIH after nearly a year off and my focus will be on the restoration and historical significance of my pieces. I will only be selling through the Etsy platform and I have deactivated my website as of today. Soon Dressedinhistory.com will take you directly to the Etsy store and I will be delighted to continue to share beautiful pieces with you all. A new collection is underway (be it at a slower pace and less pressure than I previously placed on myself) and I look forward to releasing it soon.
