Tencel Lyocell (Tencel is brand name, Lyocell the material) is amazing!

It’s a man made fibre made from wood pulp - so as long as this pulp is sourced sustainably this is great.

And (as long as its not mixed with synthetic fibres) it’s biodegradable too.

Who would have thought - a man made fibre, sustainable and biodegradable!

For , we are running a series to talk about the materials used to make the clothes we sell.

So number 1 - Organic Cotton!

At Stix we are 100% Organic Cotton. There is no Non-Organic Cotton.

Organic Cotton is way better for the environment. The main one - the lack of chemical uses = better soil, better water, and healthier ecosystems.

Water is controversial - some studies say it uses up to 91% less than Non-Organic Cotton

Whatever the case, the lack of chemicals means it gets a thumbs up from us!

Earth Day is a fantastic day to reflect on just how amazing our planet is. How special that we live on this piece of rock, that sustains life in a galaxy where there is (probably!) none.

It also is a time to reflect on how fragile it is, and how we must do all we can to protect it.

For Earth Day, we are this week running a special series of posts to explain how the materials of the clothes we have curated at Stix are better for our planet (because nothing is perfect).
