It’s now been over two weeks since the horrid grab-and-run incident at our Wandsworth store.

We are still yet to hear anything from our local police—the very people we rely on to protect us.

And last Thursday morning, yet another crime was committed at What is going on?

I’m no letter writer, but we felt compelled to reach out to our local MP in the hope of receiving some kind of response. At this point, even a simple acknowledgement that the evidence has been reviewed would bring some comfort—which feels like a sad state of affairs.

It increasingly feels like there is less and less human support and interaction when it’s needed most.

On a positive note, the support from the Wandsworth community has been incredible. You have been a total blessing—thank you for helping us keep going and for standing with us 🤍

We just wanted to say a HUGE thank you for all the support from our friends and the wonderful Wandsworth community — it truly means more to us than we can put into words ❤️

It’s been a really difficult week, and at times we’ve felt shaken and a little unsafe in a place that’s always been our happy space. It’s upsetting that one individual could make us feel that way — but your kindness, messages, and support have lifted us more than you know.

We’re staying strong 💪 and hopeful that something will be done and this person is found.

UPDATE 🚨

Sadly yesterday afternoon we were targeted by a male in the middle of the day, while customers were in the shop. He ran in and grabbed a pile of jeans and several tops — all within a split second, over £1000 vanished just like that.

He had a Lime bike waiting outside and, even though he was chased, he unfortunately wasn’t stopped.

It honestly makes me feel sick that someone could be so confident, brash and bold to do this in broad daylight, in front of others, to a small independent shop. It was such a beautiful day, we had the door open as we always do — it feels more welcoming — and we’ve always tried to avoid a locked door system. Sadly, that may now have to change.

After the horrific incidents in Clapham recently and with shop theft clearly on the rise, it feels like there is very little control right now. We’ll likely receive a crime reference number, but no real follow-up, support or resolution. No insurance payout — and that’s it. Brushed aside.

Small businesses simply cannot absorb losses like this, especially with rising costs across the board and business rates back in place. More than anything, it leaves us feeling unsafe in our own space.

Is there anyway we can tackle this sort of thing together to make our high street feel more safe & secure?

At least it was reassuring to see the police doing their thing last week — handing out fines to dogs off-lead by the pond on Wandsworth Common… so fear not, at least someone is in safe hands 🦆

I’m just so deeply saddened.
