“Probably one of my favorite spots to freedive,” writes Your Shot photographer Brandon Verdura. “This beautiful spring in Florida where the tannin from the river flows over crystal clear water from a spring. It creates these mind-blowing colors underwater.”

Close to base camp, the riders pause by a river. All the gauchos are clad in traditional dress. The attire typically consists of a heavy woollen poncho, a facon (large knife), a rebenque (leather whip) and loose trousers known as bombachas. Gauchos were originally nomadic horsemen who roamed the pampas of Argentina and Uruguay in the early 1800s, sharing a profound bond of respect and trust. Horses are still indispensable for many aspects of traditional life in Patagonia, such as shepherding livestock to green pastures in remote valleys where there are no roads.

A harp seal pup seeks shelter from the constant wind that blows across the sea ice in Canada's Gulf of St. Lawrence as it awaits the return of its mother. This image speaks to the necessity of taking climate change seriously, as rising global temperatures threaten traditional harp seal nurseries built on continuously thinning ice.

I love the summer, and I love watching the garden around our home as it develops through the spring and summer. Each evening after work, when I come home for the day, I spend the first five or ten minutes walking around our garden checking which new flowers have arrived since the day before. Many days, I take my little son around the garden with me and let him point out the blossoms. This sunflower, appearing in late summer, was a culmination of our gardening efforts and gloriously told us that a wonderful summer with our family at home had ended and a pleasant autumn was now beginning. In the enigmatic darkness, a blue poison dart frog, resplendent in its vibrant hues of azure and turquoise, emerges as a living jewel. The intricate pattern of black spots and lines adorns its skin, a masterpiece painted by the meticulous hands of nature. Each spot, each line tells a story of evolution, of adaptation to the lush but perilous rainforests where every color is both a warning and an allure. The frog’s eyes, deep and dark as the night itself, hold galaxies within them - they are windows to an ancient world where beauty and danger dance in eternal embrace.
