TruClothing was the birth child from a long-running family business that origi
nally started in the early ’80s. Back then 5 brothers came with nothing to the UK to make a better life for themselves and their families & had a vision of manufacturing, wholesaling & retailing natural leather goods such as bags and jackets. The business grew from strength to strength starting in Petticoat lane market then expanding to 30 stores across the UK at its peak! The key goal was always in providing the best quality products at a competitive price with customer satisfaction being the pivotal driving factor. As the family grew bigger the brothers decided it best to branch out and each brother took a branch of the business and made it their own. 1986
petticoat lane market, my father always reminds me of the ‘good old days’ when they would wake up at 4 am in preparation for a day’s trade selling leather jackets from a market stall similar to the one here.
1990
Leather World III this was the first major milestone for my grandfather when they purchased their first shop on Bethnal Green Road London E1 a very proud moment for the family! (from left to right grandfather, father, uncle, uncle)
2000
This is a recent picture of Leatherland when the brothers decided to go their separate ways my father took the responsibility of this store (where our customers can come if they want to try anything from our catalogue or collect in-store!) TruClothing warehouse and offices are located directly behind the store!
2010
The beginning of TruClothing.... after graduating in business and finance I wanted to do something different to the clothing trade however an opportunity had arisen within the market hall of wood green shopping city so I decided to take the plunge and branch off from my father’s store to create a similar concept but target a more price-sensitive audience, from here the dream was always to be online and we used stock from both stores to fulfil the handful of orders we received online.
2014
TruClothing we quickly outgrew the store and had a number of small storerooms in order to stock the rapidly growing force of TruClothing, thanks to the amazing team and initiative of all involved the company grew from strength to strength and once a warehouse and office space became available directly behind the family store we snapped it up and concentrated solely on e-commerce perfecting and tweaking all aspects of the business to bring to where it is today!
