EVENT: Navigating New Shores 🌊

How can Pasifika communities remain true to their cultural identity and values while navigating leadership, ambition and career growth, and how can businesses maximise the potential of their Pasifika colleagues?

Steeped in the cultural concepts of humility, service and putting others first, Pasifika professionals can sometimes find themselves being undervalued or overlooked.

The ambassador for Samoa to the EU and UK, Francella Strickland; leadership and governance strategist Sina Moana Wendt (ONZM); and lawyer and cultural ambassador, Nopera McCarthy, will explore the tension between professional and cultural values, both for Pasifika talent and the workplaces to which they contribute.

🎬 MĀRAMA: Film screening and director Q&A

Mārama is the acclaimed debut feature from writer and director Taratoa Stappard. A bold Māori Victorian gothic horror that explores a dark chapter when Māori people, culture and taonga were collected, traded and exoticised as colonial curiosities.

Visually stunning, thought-provoking and deeply unsettling, Mārama confronts colonial legacies through a uniquely Māori lens. It swept Aotearoa New Zealand, provoking much conversation and praise.
