The Golden Shears Award Golden Shears celebrates the next generation of tailors in the UK. First prize: The Merchant Taylors’ Golden Shears and £3,000.

Every two years we host a competition to bring together the very best fashion students and apprentice tailors from around the country and showcase their creative and technical excellence The Golden Shears Award is a bespoke tailoring competition held at the Merchant Taylors’ Hall every two years. It is a unique opportunity for tailoring apprentices and students from across the UK to show their cra

ft skills and creative vision in a truly spectacular setting. Second prize: The Merchant Taylors’ Silver Shears and £2,500. Third prize: The Merchant Taylors’ ‘Rising Star’ Silver Shears and £2,000. All finalists will receive a certificate signed by The Master of The Merchant Taylors’ Company and the Chairman of Judges.
