We design with integrity, creating beautifully handcrafted products to be treasured season after season. Central to our ethos is nurturing long-lasting relationships with our producers in Nepal, and we are on a quest to develop our most ethical and eco-friendly supply chain possible. For over 15 years, Deepchand has been part of our story — from developing our heavy cotton fabrics to introducing us to the beautiful banana yarn used in our BIBEK handwoven scarves and VARGA crochet wristwarmers, with new Autumn colours launching later this year ✨

Based in Bhaktapur, his workshop supports local women artisans who weave around their family commitments, keeping traditional craftsmanship alive in the heart of Nepal. From supplying fabric for our JOGI and GYANI cotton bags with Sana Hastakala to creating our newest two-tone handwoven fabrics in six rich colourways, Deepchand’s work continues to inspire every collection 🤍

I haven’t made it to May Day in Hastings (Jack in the Green) since 2019 (pre-COVID!) — it always seems to clash with my annual Nepal trip or other adventures 🌍✈️

Back in 2019, I rounded up some new friends from Rock House (where I had a desk) and we made green crowns together 🌿👑 using evergreen branches from Casper’s neighbour’s garden. Having only just arrived in Hastings that March, it was the perfect introduction to the wild, wonderful festival spirit here — such a special memory 💚

I can't wait to get involved this weekend! Hope everyone has an amazing time, and fingers crossed the weather behaves ☀️🤞

It really is such a magical festival — celebrating the start of spring, with the bogeymen chasing away Jack Frost for another year 🔥❄️

Also… one day I WILL make a bogeyman jacket, something like a Morris dancer cardigan 🧵✨
