Time for the sparkle ✨🩵💎
Now that all those silver and teal appliqués are finally attached, I can start using crystals to bring the whole design together.
I’m not just filling the appliqués with stones. I use a mixture of different sizes and shades of crystals to build up a rich, textured sparkle, then deliberately extend them beyond the appliqués and into the spaces between.
This visually connects all the different elements so your eye flows across the design rather than seeing separate patches of embellishment with little “bald spots” in between 😂
It’s one of my favourite parts of stoning. The crystals aren’t just there to make a costume sparkle, they’re another design element in their own right. Different colours, sizes and densities can completely change how the finished costume reads.
And with the ombré net, glittery silver, dimensional teal flowers AND all these crystals together… this little tutu is becoming seriously sparkly ✨🩰
