Amazing 1930s Spanish Civil War period leather blouson jacket just added to the website.

I believe that this was made as part of a two piece motorcycle suit in the 1930s. It has clear evidence of where collar badges have been fitted which suggests use by the Spanish military.

Fantastic single angled pocket, waist adjusters and wool lining. ‘TIPO’ branded zips - an anagram of OPTI.

Incredible First World War officers leather trench coat just added to the website.

This was made by ‘Tarvers’ in WW1 for a lieutenant in the British army and is typical of Edwardian leather coats. Made from a buttery feeling light colour leather, it features a special button and fly system which acts as a draft excluder and has typical details such as the waist yoke and fancy pocket detail. The lining is also a classic plaid which is evocative of the era.

🔘 A very rare piece of 1950s RAF flying clothing has just been added to the website 🔘

This is a MK1A Pressure Breathing Waistcoat which was intended to be worn with the J Type mask. It is made from rubberised linen and features an internal bladder which inflates and deflates with the wearers breathing. Clever stuff!

The interior features three bays of laces to allow the garment to be adjusted.

Original 1980s Barbour DPM Solway Zipper just added to the website! Re-waxed and ready to go with amazing bright ‘tropical’ type colours.

These are the three pocket Solway design from the 1970s but made in DPM camouflage. They are now very rare to find and highly coveted by many.

Two crown label dates this to between 1982 and 1987.

Attached period shot shows the ‘Military’ jacket being worn in the same way.

An original British Army camouflage Gas Cape in incredible, unissued condition.

This was found in a 1943 dated box of gas capes last summer and is the last to be offered for sale. The condition is fantastic with the cape still being soft and pliable meaning it can be displayed easily and it is totally free of damage or wear.

Now available is this original 1940s British leather jacket which looks to be handmade rather than commercially made.

This is rare because it is a very dark, almost black colour rather than the more commonly seen brown leathers. It features a brass ‘Newey’ branded zip, simple elastic waistband and bold plaid checked lining.

The small stand collar and patch pockets with press studs are typical of 1940s made jackets and would suggest that it was made in that decade.

A little wooden suitcase from the war was found in’s loft this week. Inside was the original owners battledress from 1942. He was a member of 576th Corps Field Park Regiment RE, sometimes referred to as 1st Hampshire engineers and they fought in the western desert, Sicily and all the way up through Italy.

A piece of newspaper from 1947 was the only other thing left in the suitcase. I’m hoping to get more details about the owner soon.

Another look at the 1947 Velocette KSS out in Kent a couple of weekends ago.
