Jeff Banks Jeff Banks is one of the United Kingdom's best loved designers. For over 50 years, he's created thoughtful, inspired and affordable fashion and homeware.

Jeff Banks has been an international brand for 50 years. He was at the epicentre of the London revolution in the early 1960’s. His collection has been sold in America, United Kingdom, Australia, China, Europe and Japan for most of that time. In 2009 he was made a commander of the British Empire for services to fashion by her majesty The Queen. He is president of Graduate Fashion Week, a past president of The Chartered Society of Designers and Chairman of the Royal Society of Arts Medals Committee. Apart from designing clothes, Jeff also has a highly successful home wear business and has assisted on design for Jaguar cars. He designs highly technical racing bikes for his own Catford Cycling Club racing team that he sponsors

How absurd that Gaza exists alongside Israel and could enjoy all the benefits that the country enjoys. A thriving democracy, a high-tech industry, farming in a desert. Extraordinary wealth but no oil.
At Camp David in 2002, Bill Clinton offered a two-state solution but Yasser Arafat rejected it. Today the Palestinians blame the state of Israel for everything and carry out atrocities on a massive scale, then complain when their adversary seeks retribution.
Palestine could have lived as a peaceful neighbour to Israel but instead has chosen corruption and endless war.
Many Israelis and Jewish people regret what has happened and continues to happen in Gaza, but until Hamas is rooted out, there is little alternative.
1947 - The UN offered Palestine independence alongside Israel. Palestine rejected it and promised war with Israel.
1948–2025 - Arab states could have integrated Palestine but instead chose not to.
1967 - The Six-Day War was instigated by Egypt, Syria and Jordan. Israel won and took control of Gaza, the West Bank and Golan Heights. The Palestinians insisted on no peace.
1990 - Israel offered a negotiated settlement and autonomy, weapons for police and billions in aid. The Palestinian leaders diverted the money to an intifada with su***de bombings and rocket attacks.
2005 - Israel left Gaza completely and the Palestinians voted in Hamas. The leaders built tunnels and armaments and left to live elsewhere.
There have been no elections in Gaza for 20 years. Hamas kills dissenters. All elections have been cancelled.

When the sky goes grey think grey.
Grey flannel. Cut in a traditional country style with studded flap pockets and a poacher pocket inside. Lightly padded and lined with poly/nylon satin this is an all weather coat. Teamed with a pale grey pure cotton roll neck zip through sweater it will ward off anything Jack Frost will throw in your direction.

As it starts to get colder I’m going through the wardrobe for appropriate all weather items. Two years ago I did this overcoat in a 400 gram knitted fabric from recycled wool. Completely unlined with all the seams taped with vintage club tie satin. Really easy on the shoulder with a three button front and patch pockets. Seriously thinking of bringing it back again next year. Good design never ages!

As the weather changes constantly layering is the answer. Pure cotton polo shirt and chinos to start with. A pure cotton knitted sweater next up. All machine washable and easy care in dark shades of country camouflage. Finally a two layered reversible nylon jacket. Camouflage one side and Navy on the reverse. Ready for the great outdoors.

Wide,wide,wide! That’s the new order of the day in contemporary tailoring. Wide shoulders, wide lapels and wide trouser hems. This suit is cut on my new Saville Row Contemporary block from No31. Holland & Sherry super 120’s Target Gaberdine. A button 2 show six in a deep chocolate brown. Peak lapels and jet pockets. Lined in caramel satin piped in slate grey with matching Columbia stitching. The new kid on the block!

A recent study round that again immigrants are 22 times more likely to commit sexual offences than white British born males. 6260 Afghans arrived between June 24 - June 25. 3770 Sudanese arrived in the same period. In august a Sudanese male Ibrahim Albashir was jailed for 25 years for slashing a woman 30 times with a broken bottle.
The point I am making is that we have a government which is openly importing people from various parts of the world of whom we have no knowledge, that have a different cultural background to our own and are committing all kinds of horrendous crimes.
The cost of an illegal immigrant is £41000 per year. This drain on our social, moral and financial resource has to stop.
The Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood constantly tells us the numbers are down, but the fact is the numbers that are here is growing. Week by week at a cost of £8.5 billion per year.
This has to stop, enough is enough.
Earlier this week the small town of Gosport across the harbour was locked down by a police dispersal order.
Any one not complying would be subject to arrest.
The reason was 149 people were rescued from the English Channel by the RNLI. It is amazing that already the police measure was in place. There were four coaches ready to collect the illegal immigrants with police motorbike outriders to es**rt them to Kent for processing. The police operation alone cost £200,000 without the expense of coaches and other facilities all paid for by the tax payer. This has the hallmark of a pre-organised arrangement, facilitated knowingly by the government.
In the 8 years since 2018 nearly 200,000 have entered the country illegally. 20,000 so far this year.
Between Jan 2021 and Dec 2024 3.39 million arrived in this country foreign students and their dependants and foreigners with work permits. More immigrants are from non EU countries in 2.99 million.
Of those entering illegally, 83% are male, 67% between 25-39.

Lined in graphite grey satin with navy blue piped edges and double Columbia stitching. A classic six button waistcoat and flat front trousers complete the wardrobe. As the temperature starts to drop time to reach for the layers. It’s a bit American wearing a knitted long sleeve cotton polo shirt over a cotton shirt silk tie to boot but I like it! Topped off with a pure wool and silk blazer in a fabric by Barberis from Italy. Two button single breasted with 10 cm wide lapels and vintage buttons. Stretch cotton chinos complete the wardrobe. You can’t always blame the Americans for poor taste plenty of good ideas from our cousins across the pond.
