To everyone commenting "just foster your pet out if you are fleeing abuse": you completely misunderstand how domestic violence works. Abusers systematically use pets as weapons of control, blackmail, and physical threats. Forcing a survivor to separate from their vital source of comfort and protection creates a secondary trauma that keeps women trapped. We refuse that barrier. Finally Free CIC is building independent, pet-friendly refuges to keep families entirely together.
