Congratulations 🎉 🥳👏🏾 to Ketanji Brown Jackson for being the First Black Women to be appointed in the Supreme Court.

Jackson worked for several private law firms and she spent most of her legal career as a public servant. After earning her law degree from Harvard in 1996, she clerked for two federal judges. She held a Supreme Court clerkship for Justice Breyer during the 1999-2000 term.

Jackson took a job with the bipartisan U.S. Sentencing Commission in 2003, the first of her two stints on the commission. From 2005 to 2007, she worked as an assistant federal public defender in Washington, D.C. Her caseload included representing indigent clients and some detainees held at Guantanamo Bay.

Jackson returned to private practice before being selected to serve as vice-chair of the U.S. Sentencing Commission in 2010. She was seen as a consensus builder in shaping federal sentencing policy at a time when federal prisons were over capacity. The commission came to a unanimous agreement to lower federal drug sentences and granted this relief retroactively.

Today we would like to lift our glasses 🥂 and honour Ketanji for being the first black women to sit on the US Supreme Court and breaking the bias! 🙌🏾😊👏🏾

Todays post is inspired by a post from

“What do you want to be the you grow up?”

A question that everyone was asked when they were in school or young?

But as you grow up it is rarely asked! Yep and I know the societal expectation is that when you grow up you will have it all figured out. The kind of career you want, the industry you will be in and what kind of position you will hold.

But the honest truth is as we grow up our desires, goals and dreams change. So why not ask you self the same questions.

“What do I want to be when I grow up?”

Yes you are grown but don’t let that stop you from dreaming and changing course within your career.

Let’s hear down below: “what do you want be when you grow up? OR What did you want to be when you were young?

And if you not sure I am challenging you to take 30 mins to allow yourself to dream again!

So before you say yes to anything make sure it DOESN’T cross any of your work boundaries!

Tomorrow is international women’s day and we would like take this week to recognise, honour and celebrate women around the world who have not only forged their way in their respective careers/ industries but have excelled and broken many biases.

We would like to start off this IWD week by celebrating and honouring our very own Hannah Awonuga founder of Rarity London () and the “My Career Guide”.
