my profound apologies
last night i logged into IG for the first time since September.
some 132 unseen dm’s from all of you in five months 💙
bar some 10 to 15 dm’s about selvedge stock refill enquiries.
some hundred dm’s reaching out touching base expressing care concern and support as we did not post once in 2025.
my deepest gratitude to you (who know who you are) in your dm’s for all your legendary unexpected words about akka.
moreover for going out of your way to take the time to dm about how you feel about akka with “say it is not over” and many a “my favourite brand” sentiments.
what goes around comes around in this realm and the next.
yes can’t also believe we not posted since January 2025.
so here goes a long overdue apology thus explanation 💙
in late 2024 we were approached to consider a unique proposition ergo an official invitation (via our day job) from a governmental minister of Ukraine.
a blank (war-torn) emergency canvas of a governmental invitation as to would we (could we) consider creating thus developing a platform in Ukraine to help contribute in some way towards the post-war rebuild transition to normalcy.
from manufacturing essential-wear to office-wear to basic daily necessities from underwear to even kitchen utensils.
we delivered essentials think Muji meets Costco meets Gap.
2025 came and went…
what we didn’t plan on was (as we all know only too painfully) still those (autocratic) ‘politicians’ keep talking talking talking.
so in October last year we re-grouped re-calibrated and we re-assessed our Ukrainian efforts ergo we professionally withdrew until peace in some way is on the horizon.
yet something unexpectedly unwittingly creatively happened during the last year so much so for the first time in 30 years.
our first (ladieswear) taste of creating luxury essential-wear.
and so by an absolute unintended set of insane geo-political circumstances indeed without even realising it at the time.
and more importantly to humbly respond to all your dm’s.
we inadvertently created akka’s sister brand .store
