Well, it has been a while hasn’t it.

My heart just hasn’t been feeling creative, it’s been preoccupied and then broken.

DeeDee, the face (or more accurately silhouette) and name of my little endeavour, was diagnosed with both Diabetes and Cushing’s disease earlier this year. It took us a fair while to get her feeling better. She had a very strict routine, that took up most of my time and energy, but we got her well. I had my sidekick by my side and was ready to start creating again.

Sadly, this summer DeeDee suddenly got very sick again.

After investigations, devastatingly it was time to say goodbye. She had the best last couple of days doing and eating her favourite things.

I was, and still am, heartbroken.

I have been creating this week, it feels cathartic and healing and is bringing joy in a very sad time.

Thank you for still being here and joining me as I honour my girl and get back to it. Keep an eye out for some fun and hopefully pretty things coming up.

Sometimes with a full on 9-5, bills and the day to day, life can get serious. It's nice to take a step back and embrace my creative side.

People seemed to like the personalised stockings I made for me, Mr B and DeeDee. So I will be sewing up a few more. The stockings are fully lined and will make a great addition to any fireplace or the end of a bed for Christmas morning. I have some alternative fabric choices for the cuff and pocket and will be selling them for £12 each.

So I have been a bit MIA, buying and moving house is hard work people. However got the sewing room all set up and got to work on this very cool banket this weekend.

A slightly bigger make up bag.

Today I shall mostly be sewing make up bags. DeeDee will be keeping an eye on me to make sure they are up to her exacting standards.

It's been a tough week in the real world so I am very excited that I got a permanent sewing area set up this morning. I think DeeDee also approves.
