Today marks our 10 years in the game. What started quite simply as our founder seeking a tailor who could recreate the club/penny collar he’d seen in Peaky Blinders slowly turned into something much deeper. At the time, the show was only in its third season but there was something about that collar that stayed with us.

That curiosity led us down a rabbit hole. One filled with hours of tireless research, trial, and appreciation. We found ourselves studying the work of Cluett Peabody & Company and their 'Arrow Collar', not just as garments, but as cultural markers. Their campaigns over the years became something of an illustrated guide for men across the late 19th to 20th century, shaping ideals of dress, posture, and presence through the humble shirt.

It reminded us that menswear has always been shaped by what we do, see and feel. The screen, the stage, what we do for work and of course our choice of music. So, when the chance came last year to step into theatre as Director of Wardrobe, it felt like things had come full circle. What started with watching and studying clothes on screen had turned into shaping them for the stage, something we had always wanted to do. The .theatre production was rooted in jazz and told through the lives of Hazel Scott, Thelonious Monk, and Pannonica de Koenigswarter.

For the ladies, we collaborated with whose couture brought a quiet authority to the stage, each piece carefully considered, echoing the elegance and depth of 50s and 60s glamour while grounding the story in something both bold and timeless.

Ten years on, this journey has come to mean more than just clothing. From inspiration, to reimagination, to creation, and continued refinement, we have always sought to bring a deeper sense of self expression through wardrobe to those we serve, starting first from the Collarbone.

To our dear clients over the years, our friends and supporters past and present, our frequent collaborators, and everyone who has helped keep us afloat, we thank you and We love you all madly.

Gerry

Weekend plans-a-plenty:: Our dear friend and client seen here wearing a silk/linen mix tubo shacket we made him recently. The slub texture and colour of the fabric is so visually pleasing it pairs well with most things as seen in his ensemble here. The half belted back for cinching adds a bit of utilitarian flair reminiscent of old shooting jackets.

Being of linen composition also makes it well suited for what is forecast as a warm weekend to come, we couldn't think of a better way to begin the downtime. Have a great weekend ahead all.

Camp or Cuban?: As avid students of menswear history, we’ve mulled over the true origins of both designs for decades and while the definitive answer remains a mystery, one thing is almost certain; the influx of Mexicans into post-war America gave prominence to what later became known as the Cuban collar. Some argue it evolved from the Guayabera, a traditional shirt from the Caribbean and Latin America.

“Camp,” on the other hand, tends to be used as a bracket term for any collar design worn open-necked. At Collarbone, the coolest collar you can get from us is called the "Camp" purely because of how we designed it, reminiscent of the scarves worn over shirts by old-school boy scouts. Hence the 'Camp'. The points are extended as though wrapped around the neck all in one piece..It’s a nod to utility, flair, and nostalgia all at once. Initially inspired by these Noveltex illustrations published in 1956.

Our dear client .tamimi wears his as intended with a neckerchief (as a gentleman doesn't go without neckwear unless by the pool) of course with our tubo sleeves internal to keep the ci**rs upright ...as classy and cool as you can get. Thats what we do here at Collarbone.

We keep getting loads of compliments wearing this chilli red corduroy number and we got some good news today that there is a short roll left.

Gerry is pictured here styling it in a slightly dressed down manner. The fabric is sourced from an italian mill and there is just about enough left for 2 jackets. It has a slight lustre to it that adds to the richness of the wale. If you are interested in securing one please do dm us asap. The special cost for these last runs are £400 all in, shipped globally.

They are available at a first come first served basis with all customisation included at no extra cost.

Photos from our recent pop up as we do more B2B orders these days, it was good to return to our starter model of business which allowed us to directly showcase our full offering whilst meeting potential clients. We will be hosting a few more popups well into the coming festivities and we will publicise if it's one our prospective clients can visit. So do keep your eyes peeled for more info on the popups.

In the meantime can those of you with keen eyes spot the difference in collar from our post of Gerry yesterday and the corduroy featured here? Tell us in the comments.

Autumnal colours 🍂 we have been selling a considerable amout of corduroys lately and we couldn't help but join in on the fun. Our founder Gerry is pictured here wearing a variation of our Shackets featuring a pleated and half belted back in a heavy 400gm Corduroy from our friends at

Our shackets serve as a lighter alternative to a blazer without risking the chill in the ever changing UK climate. Dress it up with a shirt and tie or dress it down with some turtleneck and jeans. The buttons on the half belt allow for additional cinching to give a greater triangular silhouette.

Over the years we have loved being a part of hundreds of weddings. One of the joys of helping grooms on their big day is getting insights into how they wish to stand out in one of the most important days of their lives. Ben pictured here, is a firm favourite of ours in that his choice of outfit was a bold 70s classic which we absolutely loved. The cocktail cuffs over the frock coat embroidered with his new initials as he double-barrellled surnames with his new bride was such a nice touch. The spread of the collar is our onepiece cuban, a house cut by us that is rarely seen elsewhere. We certainly love how it all turned out complimenting the velvet frock.

As we head to the festive season, do book in a consultation to get your dinner shirts in time. We specialise in many variants of dinner shirts from pleated fronts, full silks, ruffles, marcella bibs, etc.

Nice & Easy Sundays : Reminiscing about a recent conversation we had with a client trying to dissuade him of choosing bright colours for his large frame. He responds, "I spend most of the year on my yacht" we had nothing else to say when the nearest thing to a yacht we go on is the Thames clipper.

We certainly are glad how these turned out. Thanks to for these beautiful fabrics. Summer is just around the horizon....maybe later in the UK 😏
