I’ve spent a lot of time trying to understand what it really feels like for a woman living with alopecia. She loses her self-esteem, sometimes part of her identity. She starts fighting against her own body — steroid injections, medication, endless appointments. She isolates herself. Her light dims, little by little. It truly broke my heart, because even though we all know someone going through hair loss, we rarely talk about it. We rarely even see them.
