✨ EMS Family Spotlight ✨

Meet Rosie 👋 .dairy.tales.mum

I live in Nottinghamshire with my husband and our two little boys, aged 4 and 1. Both of our boys have allergies, which means allergy management is a big part of everyday life for us.

My eldest has environmental allergies, including dogs, pollen, and dust, while my youngest has severe CMPA (Cow’s Milk Protein Allergy).

Allergy journey
My youngest was diagnosed with CMPA at 5 months old, after around 4 months of trying to get answers. We worked closely with our Health Visitor, community dietitians, and GP before finally being referred to paediatrics and the hospital dietitian team.

🛒 Where we shop
is usually our go-to for safe foods.

🍽️ Top tip for eating out
Always take a packed lunch or safe snacks with you, just in case there aren’t any suitable allergy-friendly options available.

⭐ Favourite safe food brands
Alpro, We Love Cake, and Own Brand are staples in our house.

🤍 Favourite EMS product
Our EMS clip is definitely our favourite! We use it for attaching dummies, clipping toys onto the pram, and I also pop it onto my son’s wrist when we’re out at places like soft play to help highlight his allergy and give us extra peace of mind.

Living with allergies can be challenging, but finding products and routines that make daily life a little easier makes all the difference.

Our clip was our saviour on holiday last week in Devon so we didn’t loose his new teddy!!!

Today was one of those little moments that means absolutely everything when you’re a food allergy family.

We took our toddler out for a day together and stopped by a bakery . Usually, treats are something we have to plan ahead for, bring from home, or sadly say no to because of her milk and egg allergies. So many families navigating food allergies know the feeling of watching your child miss out while everyone else enjoys something special.

But today was different.

For the first time in a long time, she was able to choose a treat from the bakery that was safe for her to eat. Watching her excitement as she picked it out, knowing we didn’t have to worry about milk or egg ingredients, was such a simple but powerful moment.

To many people, it’s just a cake, biscuit, or pastry. To us, it’s inclusion. It’s normality. It’s being able to say “yes” instead of “sorry, not this one.” It’s seeing your child enjoy the same experience as other children without feeling different.

Food allergies affect so much more than what’s on a plate. They impact family outings, celebrations, spontaneous treats, and everyday moments that many take for granted.

So when businesses take the time to provide safe, clearly labelled allergy-friendly options, it makes a huge difference. Not just to the person with allergies, but to their whole family.

Thank you for making a little toddler very happy!!

Understanding these additional triggers is important for anyone living with food allergies. A reaction may not always be caused by the food alone. Environmental factors, physical activity, and even a person’s overall health can affect how the immune system responds.
If you suspect that exercise, hay fever, or another factor is influencing your allergic reactions, speak with an allergy specialist. Keeping a detailed diary of foods eaten, activities, symptoms, and environmental exposures can help identify patterns and improve management of allergies.
Food allergies are rarely one-size-fits-all, and understanding the bigger picture can help people stay safer and better prepared.

We love hearing about the journeys our ems clip families have been on, and today we’re sharing Charlotte’s story.

Hi, I’m Charlotte, mum to three girls, two of whom have allergies.

My eldest allergy warrior, Tové (almost 3), has non-IgE CMPA, egg and watermelon allergies. She has since outgrown her soya allergy and an unknown food oil allergy. Tové was diagnosed at around 6 weeks old after experiencing ongoing symptoms while I was breastfeeding. We trialled several hydrolysed formulas before finding the right fit with an amino acid formula at around 3 months old. After diagnosis through our GP, we were referred to a dietitian and later to the hospital allergy team. She has also been supported by SALT and undergone a swallow study.

My youngest daughter, Ruby (10 months), has non-IgE CMPA and egg allergies. Thanks to our family history, she was diagnosed much earlier by our GP at just 10 days old and is currently under dietetic care.

🛒 Our go-to safe food brands:
Kiddylicious, Ella’s Kitchen and Organix.

⭐ Top allergy tip:
Always read labels, even on products you’ve bought before. Some foods can surprise you – for example, certain Oreo products are dairy-free – but recipes can change, so always double-check.

🍽️ Eating out:
Prezzo, Wagamama and Nando’s have been great chain restaurants for us. I always check menus in advance and carry safe snacks just in case. We’ve also built relationships with local businesses we trust and tend to stick with places we know are safe.

❤️ Our favourite eating.more.safely product:
The EMS bibs! They are such a fantastic visual aid and make it easier for others to recognise Tové’s allergies. We’re also excited for her to start using an EMS wristband when she begins school in September as a visual reminder of her allergy care plan.

A huge thank you to Charlotte for sharing her family’s allergy journey with us. Stories like these help support and empower other allergy families navigating similar experiences.

Ok, I'll quit the baby spam now 😅 but before I do, here’s a little positive birth story to celebrate baby boys actual due date…

After my first birth ended in an emergency C-section after hours of complications and fear, I never imagined I’d one day describe a birth as healing. 🤍

This pregnancy was anything but easy; Hyperemesis Gravidarum, Polyhydramnios, countless tears, and more than one appointment where we were told our baby “didn’t look viable.” The anxiety never really left me.
But this birth? It was calm. Planned. Gentle.

The surgeons were incredible. Every step was explained. Nobody rushed us. I got delayed cord clamping, immediate skin-to-skin, and the chance to actually breathe in the moment we finally met our baby. For the first time, birth felt peaceful instead of terrifying.

After everything we went through to get here, hearing that first cry in a calm operating room felt unreal.

Introducing the newest team member at ems clip.

While we settle our newest recruit into the business, replies may be a little slower than usual, but don’t worry, orders are still being packed and shipped as normal 📦✨

Thanks for your patience while we juggle business ownership and tiny human management. We’ll get back to you as soon as we can (probably with coffee in hand ☕).

Allergy mums & dads… It’s always a win when you find a place where the high chairs are genuinely clean and working properly! But with cross contamination, your mind can’t settle until you’ve cleaned it yourself - or is that just me?

EATING.MORE.SAFELY - ems clip was born from fear and frustration as parents of a child who can’t yet communicate her allergies. When our daughter started nursery, anxiety hit: What if a new staff member didn’t know, What if early symptoms were missed,
What if someone simply forgot!?

This is exactly why we have created Allergy awareness products, that are safe to wear from birth and designed to grow with your child. Starts as a dummy/comforter clip, then turns into a child-friendly bracelet.
