Coming to you this Sunday 26th July 4pm BST at Madebykatriona.com ✨ This is a little drop of a few styles in as many sizes as I could make with a beautiful pair of vintage ‘Horrockses’ Beatrix Potter Peter Rabbit curtains 🥹🫶🏼✨🪡🧵

It’s been a gorgeous fabric to work with and I’m pleased to have transformed it into pieces I hope little ones will make some beautiful memories in as there were one or two paint marks on them so they’ve been saved!

The ginghams used in this are all preloved shirts because we have plenty of materials already on this earth to reuse and transform 🫶🏼🌍🙏✨

I cant believe this has happened - The internet is a scary place but it can sometimes do incredible things!!!!

A few days ago someone commented on one of my videos saying they’d found the Winnie the Pooh curtains I’d used recently to make a very limited number of pieces with and would I like to be sent them - and they just turned up perfect 🤩

So from the bottom of my heart thank you SO SO MUCH to that person. For encouraging me, supporting me and wanting me to continue this passion of mine 🥹

With the current heatwave in the UK it’s scary how climate change is impacting us. I’ve seen people posting about how this potentially could be the coolest summer our children experience and that honestly terrifies me.

The fashion industry is responsible for 8-10% of global carbon emissions contributing to that!

One way we CAN help as individuals is to shop secondhand, because although these high street brands clothing may be cute and “affordable” we CAN’T afford to not take action into our own hands, this is for all humanity and the generations to come 🙏♥️

This is why I chose to work with preloved fabrics in the first place, because although it’s easier to scale etc by designing with new fabric because you can reproduce and sell more I didn’t want to add to the problem.

It’s not always easy to source the right fabrics, and I often wish I had more less to do with making money but because I want more people to be able to access clothing made with preloved materials, to think upcycling is cool and support others who are doing the same thing. Maybe even have a go themselves.

Anyway there MAY be a very small limited batch of Winnie the Pooh pieces coming from me very soon! And HUGE THANKS AGAIN to the person who very kindly sent me these ✨ Thank you for supporting a Mum who wants to play her part in making the world a better place 🌍
