There is something so beautiful about Allah describing spouses as libaas for one another.

A covering. Something close. Something that protects what is private and brings warmth when things feel cold.

Marriage isn’t made beautiful by grand gestures alone. So much of its sweetness lives in the ordinary things that slowly become part of everyday life.

Knowing how they take their tea.
The familiar jokes.
Being cared for when you’re tired.
The quiet du’as made for each other.
Having someone who knows your softer places and chooses to protect them.

And perhaps part of gratitude in marriage is remembering not to let familiarity make these things invisible.
