Three months of planning later, we finally found ourselves at the medieval themed big w***hender of Eleanor’s dreams 🏰

I made several medieval themed outfits for the weekend, including the hen’s, although I’ll leave her to unveil that one herself.

For our first night, a very boozy banquet in a medieval monastery, I knew I had to show out for my girl. Eleanor was the official Baroness of the evening, so naturally, as her maid of honour, right hand woman and entertainment maven, I dressed as her court jester.

The blouse was completely self drafted using everything I learnt on my brilliant Fabric Godmother course with Geri Li - Pattern Wiz. That’s something I would have been terrified to attempt before, so I’m incredibly proud of how it turned out.

My rule with fancy dress is always to make something I’ll genuinely wear again, and this blouse absolutely fits the bill. The homemade cap, complete with fully functioning bells, may be slightly harder to work into my everyday wardrobe.

There are more outfits to come and I cannot wait to share them. Until then, congratulations, w***h, to my dear sister and best friend in the world.

Be honest: would you wear the jester blouse in real life? And should I make the bells part of my everyday look?

I firmly believe every wardrobe clear out deserves a second opinion.

Luckily for my sister, I was available.

A few hours later and I’d tried on everything she’d decided she no longer wore. Some things went to the charity shop… some things headed home with me.

Would you have claimed these picks, and who has your favourite wardrobe to raid?

For all the Home Counties girlies in homemade fits.

Giving the grandmas something to discuss over tea.

Back to stashbusting.

I made this skirt for a date that didn’t quite go to plan, so I ended up ditching it and going for drinks with a friend instead. Much better evening, honestly.

Please ignore the wrinkles — these photos were taken after, not before.

This Chinese brocade had been sitting in my stash for nearly four years before I finally turned it into the Yara skirt by . It used almost every last scrap. Another one down.

Apparently I’m a cover girl now. Always fancied myself as one, to be honest.

Eleanor and I are featured in the latest issue of Sewn Magazine, talking about everything from sewing and Sewing Bee to our inspiration and the bond we have through making together.

A massive thank you to the team for asking us to share our story. It was such a lovely interview and such a special thing for us to do as sisters.

The issue is available now at sewnmag.com if you want read our full interview.

Everyone is obsessed with the Givenchy lace dress and, honestly, I get it. But at £8k, I was going to need a different plan.

Turns out it’s actually a surprisingly simple sew, so I made my own for £30 instead. That’s a 99.6% discount, and I love about bargain.
