We are excited to announce a new collaboration project with talented London-based designer

Ambigraph developed this Islamic geometric design based on a drawing of a mosque in Cairo by Prisse D’Avenes. The minimalist design on the front of the garment elegantly projects and is hidden within the larger design on the back. As the pattern extends across the plane the eye is drawn to different visual rhythms within the overall design.

Align - Cohere - Avoid

These are the 3 competing forces that produce the dynamic, shifting forms of the flock. Each point is balancing the urge to fly towards the crowd, fly in the same direction as those around it and avoid its immediate neighbours.

Through the simple guiding behaviours the overall system produces complex organic forms

Is chaos just complexity we do not understand?

Watching the point trail we see irregular chaotic dynamics in how it flies around, making us unable to predict how it will move next. Yet once we trace out the entire shape we glimmer a hidden structure of the pattern underneath.

The pattern is created by a simple deterministic process, but from the outside it almost impossible to discern what it is
