🚶‍♀️THE CODDIWOMPLE CLUB🚶‍♀️

I am soooooooooo excited to be back! Who's ready for some sunny adventures?

The club is FREE (unless you count the cuppa and cake we usually end up getting afterwards 😉) and open to all.

Walks vary in difficulty, terrain and environment, so if you're not sure which walks would suit you, feel free to DM and discuss your personal circumstances. All walks begin at 10am and I'll post more details closer to each date. At this time we are unfortunately unable to walk with dogs, but this may change in the coming weeks.

I look forward to seeing you soon 🥰

Back carrying with a ring sling 🪐

You heard that right!

Once your baby is approximately 6 months old and able to sit unaided, you can carry your little one on your back using a ring sling. This is great during pregnancy, and very handy for wriggly toddlers who want up and down repeatedly.

Did you know that you can use a ring sling for:
🪐front carry
🪐hip carry
🪐off-centre front carry
🪐back carry
🪐torso carry

🏠Where do I hold consultations?🏘

Generally, my house or yours*!

Whilst my slings are kept in my home, I can bring up to about 5 to almost any location. I currently don't have any clinics running, so most people's preference is a consultation at their home. This can be handy if
📍you don't drive
📍you can't drive
📍you don't feel comfortable leaving the house
📍you have other children
📍you have limited time
📍you have a variety of slings and don't know which you want to try

Want to arrange a consultation in a place that suits you? DM me to get started 🥰

Big kids need this too!

Just because he's 3 now doesn't mean that he doesn't need carried.

Just because he's 3 now doesn't mean his legs never get tired.

Just because he's 3 now doesn't mean he can consistently self-regulate.

Growing up means a lot of things, but it doesn't mean that we lose our need for comfort. Typically, self-regulation begins to develop between the ages of 3 and 7, but it relies heavily on the coping mechanisms that it is exposed to during those years. Likewise, his little legs often can't keep up with the older children or even adults.

Babywearing can bridge the gap between willingness and ability, especially for those kids who don't seem to know the difference 😅

🎞Day 4 of 4 VLOG🎞

Over the midweek slump and on the home stretch! Thursdays are always glorious thanks to Bethan and the coven. Writing is such a release and has been invaluable to my healing process this postpartum ❤️

Sadly not quite the same for my bloomin' ankle but then it has been a full-on week. The exercises the physio gave me are still pretty sore but I'm hoping that that is a sign of healing and not me doing more damage to myself!

☀️Morning pain level: 5/10
🌙Evening pain level: 8/10

I love a good ring sling (have I mentioned them? 😉) and they are perfect for the day we had: popping in and out of places, on-the-go feeds and speedy "ups".

🥇MVP of the day: ring sling in Starry Night Ocean

📸Other featured carriers: Oscha base size woven wrap in Lunae Night Glow. Featured carry: back wrap cross carry.

P.S. this little series has been fun but I don't know how people do this every day for the sake of social media!

🎞Day 3 of 4 VLOG🎞

A bit of a better day today. With Harry doing some trial days at nursery I now have most of a day a week to "myself". Lots of this time at the moment is spent with my foot elevated, feeling extremely hard done by 😅

☀️Morning pain level: 4/10
🌙Evening pain level: 6/10

As you might expect, Harry has been struggling a bit with transitioning to nursery (something that I am feeling immensely guilty about) and is refusing bottles. Thankfully he's eating well, but is very thirsty when he gets home and very very velcro-y. Having the option of feeding in the sling* is invaluable, especially with bigger children who need fed too!

🥇MVP of the day: size 1 carrier

🎞Day 2 of 4 VLOG🎞

Pain levels were higher so we spent a lot of the day relaxing and trying to reduce the swelling 🥴 The physio did a pretty detailed assessment and from the range of movement, pain and bruising I still have she thinks the damage was extensive. Full recovery is likely to be a few months yet but I'm still hoping for the best!

☀️Morning pain level: 7/10
🌙Evening pain level: 8/10

With being less mobile, I didn't do as much carrying, but the ring sling did come in handy for my appointment. I was able to have my consult whilst Harry fed and then practice some exercises as he explored.

🥇MVP of the day: right-sided ring sling in Rohan Eowyn

📸Other featured carriers: Oscha ring sling in Starry Night Ocean.
