Please can you help us get to 2000 signatures??

The council in Bournemouth keep giving planning permission to out of town shops with free parking whilst at the same time absolutely crucifying any shoppers that might like to park to visit their local shops in the town centre.

The town centre can easily survive alongside Castlepoint but only if we have similar parking provision to attract the shoppers back to the town.

1 hour free parking won’t solve all the issues here but it would be a great first step towards attracting shoppers back.

Sorry to say that we will be closing our Bournemouth shop permanently on the 5th September.

A clearance sale is now on and everything must go before we leave next month, so do pop in to see us if you can 🙏🙏🙏

As you can see, even on a warm and sunny Saturday in August there are few shoppers wanting to visit the town.

If you are one of the thousands of BCP residents upset about the decline of Bournemouth Town Centre, please write to the council to ask them to review the totally inadequate, overpriced and disgusting parking provision.

There are still brilliant traders and independent retailers still hanging on hoping for change. And just a few simple solutions could make all the difference to them deciding not to move elsewhere.

For example:
- Free 1 hour parking
- restoring the lost on-street parking
- fix the parking machines (Ringo apps don’t always work!)
- reasonable and fair pricing out of season
Even a resident’s parking clock could make all the difference to them.

The council can no longer afford to be picky about who they want to visit the town. The economy is on its knees here and it’s time to welcome all shoppers, however they wish to travel.
