What an incredible first day of our closing-down sale!

We have had the most lovely comments, making, what we envisaged being a difficult day, rather enjoyable.

There is 30% off all our stock, from Skechers to sandals, wellies to slippers, shoes to mules.

We are usually open 10am to 4pm but closed Wednesdays and Friday afternoons to recharge the batteries and practise for retirement. Sunday opening 11am - 3pm.

The End of an Era Arrives

It is with sadness but a certain inevitability, that Poyntons’ Shoes are closing down their Mablethorpe shop over the next few months.

The lease on the building expires at the end of October so that has pre-empted a well-earned (slightly early retirement) for Patrick after 45 years of trading in the town.

Patrick’s parents Peter & Molly, opened the shop in 1965 when they bought the business from Miss Pentelow, so we have been a familiar face on the Mablethorpe’s High Street for a total of 60 years. Over those years, Peter also opened shops in Louth, Woodhall Spa and Horncastle but they have now all closed with Horncastle shutting down in 2021 with the retirement of Cherry, Peter’s daughter.

We wish to thank the many supportive staff members that we have employed over the years, the suppliers and trades people with whom we have dealt and it goes without saying, our loyal customers; we couldn't have continued so long without your trust and faithfulness.

We anticipate that we will close our door for the last time during September ( may be earlier) but please keep your eye on our page ‘Poyntons Shoes’ for the latest news.
