So last week this happened and

I’m flattered, staggered and overwhelmed. Im certainly nothing special at any aspect of why I do, what I lack in talent I make up for in enthusiasm for other people’s talent and skill. The more we can all get excited about something new happening in our own towns, even if it is another “coffee shop” the better our high street would be. Or you could go and open something yourself and see just how bloody difficult retailing is at the moment, unless you’re Tesco, or Vodafone or Starbucks

I was recently asked if I could supply some workshirts for a customer and finish them with a custom name badge.

Now many people would just goto a workwear supplier and buy new shirts and then give them to an embroidered to have whatever they want done. Instead I sourced 3 used shirts in great condition from and and my beautiful wife washed them for me. I then went to .co.uk who supplied my name badges previously and had some custom name badges made in a really nice navy with white lettering. Stitched those on and now they’re on there way to the customer.

He’s happy with three custom shirts that will last for years and we didn’t have to buy new, these shirts are perfectly serviceable and presentable. Sometimes we just need to think a little bit differently on how we go about things. Reuse, repurpose and recycle where we are able. Plus it’s saves a wedge of cash. 3 custom shorts for not much more than the price of 1 new…

Time to make this kitty purr…

The sound of these old machines is something special to my very damaged ears. Sure they’re temperamental, and demand attention at the least opportune moments but I wouldn’t trade it for a new one.

Great news folks, I’ve finally got coffee back in stock. Pouches of ground and beans available. Stock will be at Altrincham Market tomorrow and I’ll be in Picturedrome Macclesfield on Saturday if you want to get your fix.

This Brazilian coffee is roasted in the Peak District and is genuinely one of the best brews I’ve had.

So I had another go at the Sou Wester, this time concentrating and doing my best actually read the pattern ( those who know me know I’ve not a clue what any of it means) however having done it badly once before I knew where to do better at least.

So using some deadstock English denim and a complimentary deadstock English wool I came up with this.

Using contrasting stitching on the detail areas to highlight them, and a MW Label on the front. Is it perfect no…. But I’m no milliner that’s for sure. At some point I may make a slack handful as they’re fun hats and I love the shape of them.

I’ve managed to crock myself yet again. Fortunately this time it’s only when I breathe that it really hurts.

I’ve managed to pinch a nerve or something in my back that keeps spasming. Needless to say that I won’t be in the shop today at Picturedrome Macclesfield , however Altrincham Market is open.

I’m hoping another day of bed rest will sort things out 🤞🏻
