I don't limit or pigeonhole my designs into gender roles because I believe colour is deeply personal and gender has nothing to do with that. I've dipped in and out of hand-knitting for years. I'm self-taught, mostly just figuring things out as I go, but I love it and its not just about the final knit, its also about how it makes me feel. Each time I pick up the needles, I feel a quiet buzz, a sense of calm. When I knit, I see it as an act of self-care, something that helps me unwind and switch off. True self-care is about nurturing your mental, emotional, and physical well-being, and for myself and many others, that care comes in the form of a pair of needles and a ball of yarn.
