I’ve been working on how to brand my fabric prints as I think if people are gifting them, it’s good to know where they made so these little hand printed tags with my details on the back are going to be my solution. I’ve got a ton of fabric in my stash ready to cyanotype so I’m looking forward to getting stuck into that this autumn.

Just 10 more days to go before I move out of my lovely studio into the equally lovely studio 10 downstairs with Helen and Ella 💙

I finally got my printing mojo back over the last 2 weeks - I don’t know why it disappears for the first half of the year 😆
1 month to go until I do my first Saturday in Studio 10 here at Manchester Craft and Design Centre!

I’ve had a productive couple of days and I think it’s thanks to the realisation that I only have my fabulous studio for another six weeks before I move all my printing gear into my tiny cellar space here at home and move downstairs to Studio 10 to share with lovely Helen Tiffany and Contemporary pewter for your home and table | Pewter workshops - eek!! That’s snuck around quickly!
As much as I’m going to miss my gorgeous studio that’s been a home from home for the last 5 years, I’m so looking forward to having more time and headspace to work on pushing my cyanotypes and textile printing in fresh directions 😊 I’m excited!

Another cyanotype print from yesterday, this time using one of the huge wild carrot flowers I pressed at the beginning of July. I’m loving all that detail, especially in the centre of the flower

I’ve been meaning to print with Lily of the Valley since I started growing it last year. I finally got the chance to make some cyanotype prints in the garden. Such a beautiful plant but apparently it spreads like mad which is why I’ve got it in pots

I had a bit of a printing session in the studio this afternoon. I never get tired of using feathers in my cyanotypes, they create such detailed prints

Has anybody else’s wild carrot flowers gone crazy this summer? I can’t press them fast enough and they’re all self seeded too 💚
Younger me wouldn’t recognise this garden obsessive version of myself, I’ve got cyanotypes to thank for that! 😆

Exciting (and bittersweet) news! After nearly 5 years of running Studio 26 at Manchester Craft and Design Centre, I’m moving on! I’m not going far though as I’m going to studio share downstairs with Contemporary pewter for your home and table | Pewter workshops and Helen Tiffany in the fabulous Studio 10 where I’ll still be selling my work (& kits and my book) and chatting all things cyanotype.

Running my studio on my own is getting a bit too much, I’m missing being able to catch up with my family and friends and I don’t have much time to develop new work. Sharing with Ella and Helen means that we can split the time in the studio across the week and I get some of that work/life balance back.

I’m not moving downstairs until September so I’m still running workshops up until I move. If you’ve been thinking of coming along, please check out the available dates on my website (link in bio) and if there isn’t a date there that suits you, please get in touch and I’ll see what I can do to find a date that works before September.

This is where it’s bittersweet as I’m going to miss my workshops so much as they have been an absolute joy to run over the years and I’ve met so many gorgeous people. There isn’t space to run my cyanotype workshops in their current form (huge washout bay and a sun bed aren’t the most compact of studio items) but I am working on new ideas for workshops so watch this space!

In the meantime, I hope to see you in Studio 26 before September and then in Studio 10 downstairs after that 😊

It’s been a while since I’ve printed with anemones from my garden. Have you seen the weather forecast for the weekend? Up here in Manchester it looks incredible so I’m going to be making the most of the wall to wall sunshine to make some prints al fresco ☀️
