Captain Midnight's T-Shirts

Like a lot of things lately this started out as a joke. We were making our own biker/metal/outlaw country t-shirts of questionable taste that also served as an outlet for our immature sense of humor (look at our t-shirts - that hasn't changed). We built a little Threadless

t-shirt shop to share with other bent individuals. Then the country changed. And not, we feel, for the better. So we changed our mission and made Captain Midnight our alter ego. Think of us as super heroes with the power to make same-y biker t-shirts. This is our own little rebellion. To think we can change the world one t-shirt at a time is ridiculous. But right now, we don't give a f**k. Here are our founding principles - a Captain Midnight Mission Statement, if you will.

1. We are going to donate a portion of any profit to progressive, empowering, causes. Courage Campaign, ACLU Nationwide, Southern Poverty Law Center, Planned Parenthood Action, Sierra Club, and Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America are just a smattering of great organizations that we support. If you have a preference or could suggest more, we're all ears.

2. We are in the "vote with you dollar" phase of the program. If you are wavering on buying a t-shirt or donating to a progressive cause - DONATE! Don't even hesitate. There are much more important things going on right now than t-shirts... we have to hunker down for the long haul. Hold up a second... let's clarify. F**k the t-shirts. Short on cash to donate to a cause or organization that you're absolutely passionate about, let alone a goddamn t-shirt. We strongly encourage you to donate with your time. Call on behalf of a progressive action item. Volunteer for an outreach organization. It'll, hopefully, make you, and us, feel a little better. We're not going anywhere (if we can help it).

3. The Captain Midnight alter ego is not just ours. It's yours too. If you want to post something that may not go down so well with work, your family, church, friends, etc.- we get it. You don't have to explain yourself. Your post will be under the Captain Midnight moniker and be anonymous. There will be some curation here, just to forewarn, but know that you are also Captain Midnight, if you want to be. You may not want to be. We get that too.

4. We're all about lawful civil disobedience. Humor is a plus. A big big plus. More of that, please.

5. If you know of anyone like us making pins, hats, t-shirts, needlepoint, quilts, whatever - please message us and let us know. We'd like to promote them. This IS NOT a competition. Additional dissenting voices need to be heard.

6. Lastly. We will not tolerate trolls, harassment, or any of that bu****it. It will be deleted and you will be blocked. Sorry. Our page, our rules, our curation. Sell your own damn t-shirts. This is all kinda new to us. Truthfully, it's kinda scary. We're going to make mistakes. Please be kind and be patient. It's okay. We just have to do something. Just don't give up.
