I can tell that it’s a long time since I posted anything as of course this post is going to appear before the first one I wrote & so my messages re out of sequence, but what’s new, I frequently get things backwards way about. I can think of a less genteel phrase but that wouldn’t fit with the Lavender Lady image at all would it!
Anyway I have two more pairs of earrings. The first are silver coloured filigree leaves which I think make a very pretty cascade. They are two & three quarter inches long or 7cms, they come in a silver mesh drawstring presentation bag & cost £12.50 inc p&p, they are also avail in gold coloured metal,
Last but not least, hand beaded snowflake earrings with Swarovski Crystals on the drop & a tiny cubic zirconia incorporated into the ear wire, they are 2” or 5cms long. They too come with a presentation bag & also cost £12.50 inc p&p

This has been such an eventful & life changing year for us all hasn’t it. I never imagined that I could or would go so long without sewing anything remotely crafty, scrubs & face masks don’t quite fit the bill do they.

So in celebration of having survived what has been 8 months of shielding, local restrictions, further lockdown & as of tomorrow further restrictions I am posting some hand beaded jewellery items. I haven’t made lots, (it’s a newly acquired skill), but I thought I’d initially try them on my page .
First up are beaded Christmas tree earrings. They measure one & three quarter inches or 4.5 cms , with glass beads & silver coloured wire attachments. They come with a silver mesh draw string presentation bag & are £10.50 per pair, (p&p included) available in crystal, red, amethyst & silver.

I couldn’t resist posting a picture of this year’s trees. They are all different, they stand between 12 & 14” high. Each has a set of mini led lights. They smell nice & Christmassy as they are decorated with cinnamon sticks, star anise & dried orange slices studded with cloves.
They cost £25 each. I haven’t a clue how to post them but I will deliver around Glossop, Stockport or Manchester & I will be in Pontefract on November 10th & Derbyshire house on Nov 8th &11th. Please message me if you would like one. They do sell quickly so don’t wait too long!

I can’t believe how long it is since I posted anything for sale on here. I guess because I was selling so many gnomes last year I didn’t have time to post anything else.
For Christmas this year I have branched out a little & included more things in the range.
I have fabric advent calendars that measure approx 20” x 27” (52 x 69 cms) , they are quilted & lined with coordinating fabric. You can personalise them by putting your own presents in that suit the recipient. They are £30 +p&p, they should last for years!

Well after a very long silence because I have been busy with orders & other events in my life, I would like to introduce you to my family of gnomes.
They are approximately 14” (36cms) tall and have an all round body measurement of about 13”(33cms). They are made of faux long pile fur with felt hats & feet. They have a wooden bead for a nose. They are filled with rice at the bottom to give stability & enable them to stand &then are stuffed with polyester fibre of the type with which you would stuff a cushion.
They are for decoration only & ARE NOT TOYS, therefore they should be kept out of reach of small children.
They are made from a pattern by NordiKatja.
They cost £15 +p&p (but I am happy to deliver around Glossop or Heaton Moor.)
These are the ones I have ready right now but feel free to pm me if you would like a bespoke one.
No two gnomes are exactly the same, they are all made individually with love.

Here is the Flip Clutch wallet I was telling you about, this one certainly has all the bells & whistles so would normally sell at £30, however the faux leather has slight lesions on one side (you can see it if you look carefully at the third picture) so it is reduced to £20, a real bargain if I say so myself!
As with the other Flip Clutch wallets it is 7 .75” x 4.75” (19.5 x 12cms) It has a zippered coin pocket, 8 credit card slots, one note compartment & 1 pocket large enough to accommodate your phone.

Goodness me it’s all go at the moment, starting a blog sure keeps you busy. But I have finished a Harris Tote bag this week & also another Flip Clutch Wallet, I just love that pattern!
Here is my version of Diane Spencer Ogg’s Harris Tote, I have made it in genuine Harris Tweed (& has the label to show it). it stands approx 13” high x 14”wide & has a depth of 5”. It has a recessed zip at the top for security & one large internal pocket, also with a zip and four gold coloured feet on the bottom to prevent it getting scuffed. The handles which are leather, not imitation, are 26” long, so it will hook over your shoulder.
Harris Tweed is extremely hard wearing, it is showerproof & can be sponged clean if it gets a mark.
The price of £70 reflects the fact that this is a bag made from the finest materials, (Harris Tweed costs £46 per metre!)is individually hand crafted and consequently unique.

I was also busy entering a competition run by Diane, it was to make a Groovy Glasses case, (that’s the name of the pattern, not me trying to be cool!)
It’s a very simple pattern & could actually hold anything. My favourite entry was one that held an emergency kit Kat supply, (now why doesn’t that surprise you?). Eventually there were so many entries she couldn’t choose so she nominated her favourite six, gave her reasons why & invited others to vote.
She nominated me for my sheer determination, Ican’t tell you how many versions I created before I was happy. To my amazement I won, I think it was the sympathy angle that swayed folks, but nevertheless I could add “ Internationally acclaimed prize winner” when I post my Lavender Lady story!
I will however, when I have finished it, show you the fruits of my price. I got to choose any pattern of Diane’s that I liked. So I chose a cross body bag called the Curve. She is cut out & ready to go so watch this space.
My competition entry was this case in Harris Tweed & faux leather, I had redesigned the flap to look like a saddle & that bit hanging down is the stirrup. My original version just didn’t look right at all & one very kind lady sent me a picture of herself on her horse to show me where the stirrup should be. You see what I mean about the sympathy vote.
But it gets worse or better, (and this will amuse any of my ex-work colleagues from MAS, don’t ask why it’s just too embarrassing), when I was photographing my entry I took the first one with no problem at all, but I could not get the focus right on the second for love nor money. After about 15 mins I finally realised it was because I was using my own spectacles in the picture!

Good morning! I’m sorry to have been quiet for so long but I was very busy adapting one of the patterns I like it’s the Harris Tote by Diane Spencer Ogg.
A customer asked if I could make it with a recessed zip closure at the top & if I could widen the depth at the bottom so it would stand up alone. I am delighted to say I could. And here she is. This one is made with a tweed wool & faux leather, it has extra hardware & a tassel & is bigger than the original by 2” all round & has a bottom depth of approx 4” so stands up well.
This one is sold, but made in similar fabric would cost £50, in Harris Tweed it would cost £65.

Today’s addition to the collection is the Turnaround Cross -Body bag by my favourite designer Diane Spencer Ogg. The approximate finished dimensions are 11 x 11.5” (28 x 29.5cms). It is made with faux leather & a faux suede & fully lined in cream cotton. It has two “billowy” pockets inside so you could get sunglasses or your phone in them. It also has a large internal faced pocket. On one side of the outside there is a large pocket which has a flap & turn lock to keep it securely closed, and on the other side an external zip pocket inside of which are two handy credit card slots. The top fastens with a recessed zip which again keeps the contents more secure.
As the name says it is a cross body bag with a fully adjustable strap so you can choose just the right length for you.
This is available for this month only at £50. I’m thinking I might try the next one in Harris Tweed so watch this space!

And last but by no means least for this morning I have the Flip Clutch wallet another design by Dianne Spencer Ogg. This is such a versatile design, it is a Clutch wallet with a detachable wrist strap so you can use it as a bag in its own right (it looks nice in faux silk as an evening bag) or take the strap off & use it as an everyday wallet/purse in your handbag. Finished dimensions when it is folded up are 7.75 x 4.75 (19.5 x 12cms). when opened out it is 14” (34cms) long. It has a zippered coin purse, 12 credit card pocket, a note compartment & a padded pocket at the back big enough to hold a mobile phone. There is a magnetic clasp on the inside & I have made a variety of different flaps , some of which have a further magnetic clasp, or a turn lock for greater security. I have also used metal trim on some which does add a little extra polish to the finished appearance. I have several versions of this, it is my favourite pattern of its like & the different prices are reflected in how much “hardware” each one carries. The most basic, ie; without detachable wrist strap & only a magnetic fastener starts at £18 rising to £30 with all the “bells & whistles” but pm me if there is a particular feature or fabric you would like & we can sort out the price.
