On the opening weekend of the shop, the beautiful popped in and asked if I’d be interested in styling her for her upcoming music video from her new album.
She shared the concept she’d created herself; a dinner scene where she sits opposite her own reflection.
On one side of the table she appears as a woman and on the other as a man – Nishla was looking for styling specifically for the male character.
We played the track in the shop so I could really understand the mood and direction she was going for and from there we arranged for her to return for a lock in appointment.
I prepared a rail of pieces that felt right for the brief.
There were plenty of options we could have gone with but Nishla was immediately drawn to one look in particular – a black velvet vintage jacket with ornate gold embroidered detailing, paired with suede leather tapered trousers.
The fit was relaxed and effortless perfectly suiting the character, highly refined and elegant, with a quiet, considered confidence.
From there, Nishla added prop-style pieces to elevate the outfit and fully bring the character she’d created to life 🥀 🕯️
