Most prints start with an idea.

This one started with a place.

When the opportunity arose for me to create something bespoke for Berry’s Tennis for this year’s event, I didn’t want to simply design a pretty print. I wanted to create something that told a story.

So I began collecting details.

The famous peacocks that wander the grounds.
The beauty of Hazlewood Castle.
Vintage tennis rackets.
The colours, traditions and atmosphere that make Berry’s Tennis so special.

Each element was carefully illustrated and layered into the artwork, creating hidden details waiting to be discovered.

Look closely and you’ll find little nods to the event woven throughout the design.

The result is Secret Court.

A limited-edition print created exclusively for Berry’s Tennis.

A wearable memory of a special place, designed to be treasured long after the final match has been played.

This is one of my favourite parts of what I do.

There’s something powerful about putting on an outfit that feels like you.

Not because it follows a trend.
Not because it’s what everyone else is wearing.
But because it makes you stand a little taller, smile a little wider, and walk into the room with confidence.

At RHOEN, we’ve always believed clothing should do more than just look beautiful.

It should empower.

Running RHOEN is one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done.

But I’d be lying if I said it was always easy.

One of the biggest challenges is trying to create something truly unique and memorable in a world where so much fashion is fast, mass-produced and made to look the same.

I don’t want RHOEN to feel like something you could pick up anywhere on the high street.

I want the prints to feel special.
The fit to feel considered.
The pieces to feel like they belong in your wardrobe for years, not just one season.

But doing things that way comes with a cost.

Original prints, better materials, slower production, careful design decisions, smaller runs, bespoke work - all of that means higher expense and, honestly, not always the biggest profit margin.

That’s been a lesson in itself.

Staying true to your values when the easier option would probably make more money is hard.

Holding boundaries is hard too.

Knowing what I will and won’t compromise on.
Learning when to say no.
Learning that not every idea needs to be rushed.
Learning that rest is part of the process, not a reward for burning myself out.

Because when you run your own business, it’s very easy to feel like you should be working 24/7.

There is always another design to develop.
Another email to answer.
Another order to check.
Another decision to make.

But I’m learning that stepping away sometimes is what allows the creativity to come back properly.

RHOEN is built on detail, feeling, quality and intention.

And staying close to that, even when it’s difficult, is probably the biggest challenge and the biggest privilege. x
