Back in 2015 we had an idea in the pub – was it possible to support small UK manufacturers with production sized orders, and get people wearing and using stuff made here? We started with trousers – We found out that Hebden Bridge, where we lived, used to be known as Trousertown, because it made over 20,000 pairs of trousers a week. That’s a million pairs a year. At the time, we didn’t know much ab

out trousers, but we had been wearing them all our lives, which had to count for something. HebTroCo was launched on Kickstarter, a crowd funding website, at the end of January 2016, with the aim to sell an initial batch of 176 pairs of trousers. We sold that batch in five hours, so we quit our jobs, and committed to HebTroCo full time. It seems to be working. We’ve added denim jeans, shirts, socks, hats and other paraphernalia working with makers, mills and factories right here in the UK. Everything we do is Made Right Here and exclusive to us.

Once upon a time, the jackets you wore to graft were genuinely built to last. We’ve got a few vintage European workwear pieces in our collection and we’ve used these as cues for the Mistle. The name? Well, instead of borrowing the common American term “chore jacket”, we’ve gone full Yorkshire and put our spin on it. “Mistle” is a farm outbuilding, a place to chuck your tools, and hang your work jacket, probably on a rusty peg nailed to the back of a well weathered door.

The Mistle Jacket is not reproduction fashion or old-times cosplay, it’s designed and made for the now. A contemporary response to what we’ve learnt from the old stuff hung on our walls, the stuff that was always made-to-last. Twill is tough, but the look and feel of this one is something else. Silky soft with a slight peachy brushed feel. A slice of the good stuff. Wear it smart, work it hard.

Blue and Green absolutely SHOULD be seen. Our Harris Nep Jumper and Decade Moleskins are quite the pair 👌👌👌 Firmly rooted in a pair of Moto Grizzly Boots. Can't really complain about that. All British-made. All here for the long haul.

The Norse Jumper has been knitted using 100% pure new wool from sheep that roam freely on the fells and downs of the British Isles. They’re shorn every year in the spring and their fleeces are sent off to the British Wool Board to be hand-graded to ensure it meets the highest standards of quality assurance. The yarn is spun locally to us at Shepley Yarns in Saddleworth.

It’s a really special thing for us to be able to use wool that’s truly homegrown. The rearing of sheep and the trading of their fleeces fuelled the industrial boom that shaped our Northern towns forever. Times have changed and today wool is sourced globally, but we can still do it here, and it’s nice to celebrate that where we can.

BEANIES ARE BACK. You'd better be bundled before the breeze starts to BITE. These fine British-knitted specimens, the "Bernard" in a sweet honey yellow and the "Norman" in a blueish grey are knitted from 100% merino wool. Soft on the noggin, toasty for your thoughts and squidgy on your shell.

Have you seen our new denim smock yet? We picked a fantastic salt and pepper 13oz selvedge for it. Black in the warp, ecru in the weft. Mad to think that it's only going to keep looking better with age. The kind of project we're into. What do you think?

Like everything we do, the Denim Smock is made right here in Britain to our spec and design. 100% cotton denim, buttons made from nuts! Don't try to eat them though, you'll break your gnashers 😁
