We know.

We’re as surprised as you are.

Normally Hil is drawn to a flourish, a frill, a fabulous print or something that can probably be seen from space.

But every now and then she likes to keep things simple.

💔 WHEN YOU SPEND AGES ON SOMETHING… AND ALL YOU GET IS 👍 💔

Poor Evie.

New to Team Wardrobe.

Full of enthusiasm.

Sending Hil thoughtful work-related messages, helpful updates and generally being an excellent human.

Naturally, she expected a reply along the lines of:

✨ “This is absolutely brilliant.”
✨ “You’re a genius.”
✨ “Where have you been all my life?”

Instead…

Just a thumbs up.

A single, solitary thumbs up.

The emotional damage was immediate.

As you’ll see from this reel.

To be fair to Hil, she genuinely thought she was conveying appreciation, gratitude and professional respect.

Unfortunately, she is of the generation that still occasionally signs off texts with an X and thinks that constitutes emotional communication.

Meanwhile Evie is learning that working at Wardrobe at The Cross involves:

Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to complete the surveys and share their views on the need for a Banking Hub in Neston. Your support and engagement have provided valuable evidence of the community's needs.

Prior to NCYC’s campaign, an application for increased access to cash and banking services in Neston had already been submitted by Neston Town Council. Unfortunately, that application was unsuccessful.

Following advice received, we will now be using the evidence gathered through our survey and public meeting to support Neston Town Council in appealing this decision, rather than submitting a new application. Given the recent application, any new submission would be unlikely to progress and could be automatically declined.

We believe the strong evidence provided by local residents and businesses demonstrates the clear need for improved banking services in Neston, and we are committed to supporting the appeal process and working closely with local stakeholders.

We will continue to keep the community updated as matters progress. Thank you once again for your support and for helping us make the case for a Banking Hub in Neston.

If you’ve ever wondered what happens when you leave Hil alone in the boutique with a musical soundtrack…

This.

The song is Memory.

Hil knows approximately 73% of the words, 100% of the dramatic bits, and absolutely believes she should be on a West End stage.

Instead, she’s in Neston, singing into a mannequin head and wearing a rather gorgeous Lily & Me dress.

Which, when you think about it, is probably for the best.
