We are inspired by old fashioned tailoring, skills, service and values, hand cutting and tailoring bespoke sustainable clothing and accessories using tradition methods and machinery. With an emphasis on low impact eco-r

esponsibility, nothing makes us happier than altering or repairing your existing wardrobe to extent its useful lifespan. Our full denim repair and alteration service includes darned no patch hole repairs and rips. Darning is a process which enables us to sympathetically restore your denim, using our Singer 47w70 machine. Beautiful fades are earned through repeated wear - there are no shortcuts - and inevitably, with hard wear comes rips, blowouts and tears. From our selection of over thirty cotton-wrapped threads, we can create a colour matched darned repair to help preserve your unique feathering, whiskering and honeycombing patterns, resulting in a finish that’s as unobtrusive as possible and will naturally fade with wear. We also offer chain-stitched hemming and like for like alterations.

It’s time for another of my increasingly infrequent posts but I had to share these Studio d’Artisan, persimon overdyed, beauties I had in for chainstitch hemming today. I was even more impressed he travelled over from Carlisle to drop them off.

A made to order Darned Fine 5141 chore jacket in 16.5 oz Japanese selvedge denim and RE:Structured 3 pocket M59 bag combo. Both handmade by me in Newcastle. Don’t hang about, there is only enough fabric left for 4 more jackets in this run.

Re-S092 “Belfast” is one of
the latest series of Re:Structured totes constructed from recycled vintage RAF and British Army kit bags from the 1940's through to the 1970's.

They have beautiful original markings including hand rendered and stencilled serial numbers, names and destinations. A unique patina from rust and paint splashes is evident from previous military use.

I think I’ve made repairs in 20 spots to these beautifully worn in jeans over the last few years. The latest batch is complete and they are ready to ship back to their owner.
