We wanted to show people how much fun you could have making a pattern and how empowering picking up a needle and thread can be. In a world where fast fashion has become part of our everyday busy lives we wanted people to take a minute for themselves and make something that really reflects their own personality. After graduating from Northumbria University I spent some time in London where I worked
as a designer for companies such as Saltwater and Liberty of London. Upon moving back to the North East I wanted to try a new approach and Cut & Sew was the result of this. Cut & Sew takes a fresh approach to pattern cutting and sewing, no stuffy classrooms filled with matriarchal sewing teachers, we teach you what you really want to know about dressmaking! We soon realised that it wasnt only dressmaking people wanted to learn and so we developed a programme of home sewing - teaching how to make wonderful, beautiful things for the home. Over the years we have established great relationships with local authorities and businesses and there is nothing that is too big a challenge so put us to the test!
