Self care.
In the form or a silken pillow, well & my boo of course.
I needed to sew something today, for personal therapy.
Wild sewing.
Freestyle & fast.
The opposite of the precision & slow creative process over at - not that i don’t adore that, it’s simply two sides to the coin.
Made from studio cut off’s, left over from my my final collection (in erm 2003) I’d say this is defo zero waste & vintage fabric. No cutting needed, working with the material in hand, which was of course the exact size needed to make a pillow case, so absolutely no left overs barr a few threads trimmed at the end of each line.
It’s not rocket science, but it felt soooo good & was exactly the medicine I needed.
But then here I am describing this personal moment intended just for me on social media, leaving me pondering the question,
At what point did we all feel it necessary to give ourselves over to the grid?
Has my soul accidentally become a marketing tool in this post,
am I merely giving a little insight to my day & what makes me tick,
or am I simply acknowledging a beautiful moment & sharing with others in the hope to inspire them to capture one of their own?
Answers on a postcard folks…
