This is one of the most emotional stories I have ever shared.
I have cried many times while making this documentary, but I never expected this moment.
Visiting the Khamir Project has been a long-held dream of mine. It sits at the intersection of two great loves: my passion for sustainable fabrics and a lifetime of creativity inspired by my mother.
This year, we finally made the journey.
It meant the world to me, but I never expected what happened next.
After hours immersed in our Khamir Project footage, I froze on video 3333 — my mother’s number, a beacon of her presence throughout my life. My heart pounded. Whenever 33 appears, I pay attention. It always seems to arrive at the moments that matter most.
When I opened the video, I was overwhelmed.
There I was in Gujarat, unknowingly speaking about my mother, who was also a seamstress and would have cherished this journey. I had absolutely no memory of talking about her that day.
Yet somehow, behind video 3333, there she was.
Holding me through time.
We’re currently crafting the full documentary, but this is one of its most profound moments.
The music in this reel is Children by Robert Miles — my mother’s favourite piece of music and the song we played at her funeral.
