Devon Art and Display Stands

Last Saturday we took our stands to the Gateway Theatre, Seaton, to enable the exhibition of paintings and photography by Margaret Ellis. We arrived at 9am and had everything in place by 10.30, then it was just a case of helping Margaret and her friends to hang her work.
It was a big venue for one artist to fill, and Margaret managed to distribute her work around the theatre to make it interesting for people to browse.
By all accounts she had a good weekend, sold work, and met friends. We had a good weekend too, especially Saturday afternoon when the sun shone and the beach and bay looked great.
Sunday's weather was disapponting after the Met Office had promised us more sun!
We took the stands down at 4pm and were on the road home before 5pm.

We're very honoured to be providing the display stands for a forthcoming exhibition of work the late Carrie Baker. Carrie was a retired priest who sadly died three years ago. In the latter years of her life she devoted much time to the development of her drawing and painting. This exhibition will show some striking examples of her work.

The exhibition is at Sheldon, nr. Doddiscombsleigh, Devon, on the 2nd and 3rd of November.

Devon Open Studios take place in September and SHAF Arts Trail in October. We still have some stands available for hire during those months but book them soon because they're popular periods for hire!

What a good school Elburton Primary is! Helpful staff and well-behaved children and great facilities. We erected ten stands in pairs for them in the hall and then various groups came and blue-tacked their images on the stands. They then moved them to another location that opened onto the sports ground where the bbq and other events where happening. Their Open Day was winding down when we arrived later in the evening to take the stands down for them. Judging by the numbers of parents and pupils leaving they must have had an excellent turnout.

Off to Elburton Primary School near Plymouth tomorrow as they're hiring 10 stands for their Open Day. Great to see a school promoting art for youngsters. I hope it goes well.

A couple of weeks ago we were delighted to be able to help the Mare and Foal Sanctuary, Littlehempston, with their first ever equine art exhibition. On the 23nd - 25th May all our hire stands will be at Harbertonford Open Studios, Harbertonford near Totnes, Devon.

Got the web sorted out then there was a problem at our local BT exchange and we were without broadband for five days! Technology's great when it works!

In addition to the new price list (now on the web site) you can also download our new LED lighting price list. I'm hoping to get some pictures on the web site as soon as I can get my hands on units down here in Devon.

The new canvas bag for the standard table-top display has just arrived. A really practical way to carry your stand and to keep it protected. Happy New Year! We hope 2015 will be a good one for you all.

The New Year has got off to a great start with a large order for one of the Government departments in Whitehall! We're aiming to deliver this during January. Several other enquiries have also come in this week so it's been a busy start to the year.

You may have noticed that our price list is being revised and we're aiming to make this live w/c 12th January.

Our long-awaited LED lighting should also be available this month! Hurrah!

We're also designing canvas carry bags for our table-top displays stands. These will be made at Seale-Hayne, where I'm based, by Franzipan Bags. More on this later.

During January we'll be sponsoring a wall-fixed hanging system in a small gallery space at Hannah's at Seale-Hayne.

Back on the 13th September South Brent held it's first ever Wood Fair. It was a great day attended by almost 500 people. Artist Paul Stratton used a pair of our stands to display his lovely maps of Dartmoor and South Brent, the latter commisioned by the organisers of the Fair.
