So what a wonderful time! I was absolutely blown away by this weeks turn out for the workshop at on Monday! It was great fun and everyone had a blast! We worked through some of the same topics as week one since nearly everyone was new and then we spent some time doing some rapid fire warm ups, followed by sharing our sketches and ideas.

The creative and inspired responses to my silly briefs really got me excited. Seeing the variety of different ideas or sometimes the similarities, depending on the brief reminds me how magical creativity is!!

On a personal level these workshops mean so much to me because they are an opportunity to come together with fellow artists and have fun and share in the joy of creativity. It can be very isolating working as a creative professional or a freelancer. I wanted to run these workshops to remind myself and my peers that though we often work solo, we are not alone and we are surrounded by support.

Hello ladies, gents, germs and worms!!! Tonight we are in store for another edition of the Dread Decks Drawing Club coming at you live a direct from once again we will be in the play room (the little lounge to the left of the entrance).

Come on down and do some drawing from 6-9 tonight!

At a loss for what to do tonight, do some drawing with us! Want to meet some new people and make some new friends, come do some drawing with us! Want to get out the house, come do some drawing with us!!

Did I mention it's 100% FREE, that's right free! All you need is to bring your lovely selves, your sketchbook and an open mind to new and exciting experiences!!

If you don't have a sketchbook don't you worry I have drawing kits available for the small price of £5 in which you get a sketchbook, a pencil and the opportunity of a lifetime!

The possibilities are endless, a drawing club workshop in your area is waiting for you!

So here's a few more snaps from the workshop the other day! Great to see so much creativity around one table.

We had a freelance illustrator, an author and a graphic designer all show up to engage in the workshop and share in each other's passions for drawing.

One of my favourite exercises was passing the sheet around and continuing drawing on the same piece of paper based on the theme chosen by whoever started the page. It was a lot of fun, we played with the themes 'fish dance party' 'draw the person next to you' 'your favourite flower' and 'what would your superpower be...' It was very interesting seeing everyone's different styles collected on to one page!!

Monday's workshop went off with a bang it was great to get together and meet some new people, make friends and make some great art.

We had a short talk about creativity and activating that creative spark even when you aren't feeling like it. We then did some quick warm up exercises followed by some longer art briefs.

It felt great to get these workshops going after what feels like a very long time thinking about them and planning.

It was a super friendly and welcoming atmosphere and everyone pushed their limits creating art that was a little out of their comfort zones.

Looking forward to the workshops to come, they are going to be great!

Hello Creative creatures, arty people, illustrators, doodlers, sketchers, drawers and draughtsmen! The time is upon us to come together in celebration and support! Do you ever find yourself stuck on a creative problem? Do you ever find the loneliness sneaking in after many hours toiling away on a piece of art? Have you fallen out of love with your creative practice and are struggling to find your way back to it?

Have no fear my friend. I've been there with you dear fellow weary traveller. No longer shall you have to walk these sketchy roads alone, no more shall you suffer in silence and in solitude!!

Next Monday, 22/08/22, the first in person will take place, all are welcome. Starting at 6 o'clock on the dot, there will be a creativity and community workshop run by yours truly. The wonderful team have offered us the play room(the little lounge on the left of the entrance..) for the evening to use as an artist's sanctuary. Here we may come and rest and work a while.

There will be some food for thought, a few warm up exercises after which you can continue with your own work or follow some little briefs prepared for you. There will also be plenty of opportunity for discussion of any arty problems you have come across recently.

Bring your sketchbook, bring your work. Have a print or a tea and have a bloody lovely little evening! Potential prizes to be won but everyone's a winner! Come on down!

Big changes have had me sweating recently. Things keep going wrong, holes in the ship keep springing up at the most inconvenient of moments.

I keep telling myself to stay patient. Trust the process. Keep an even keel, stay calm, collected, patient and persistent.

Sometimes it is easier said than done...

Doing this shoot with Flora and these beautiful ladies was a nice gentle reminder that things are moving in the right direction. I spend much of my time alone sewing, drawing and planning. So much so that I forget to get anyone to try the things on always waiting for it to be ready for the "launch...." On rails and on shelves they lie dormant, waiting.

Flowing on the body these bits of fabric dance their dance and become alive, awoken to what they are supposed to be.

Maybe this is some kind of reminder that clothes are made to be worn and art is made to be seen, skateboards at to be ridden, food to be eaten and moments to be celebrated.. Or maybe I'm just ranting! Either way shoots are good, people trying on my clothes is better and eventually launching will be even better!!

Back to back prints and textures!

After all the Goblin good times it's easy to forget about all the other good things we have been working on! The Goblin will be back but for now it is back to the usual transmission!!

Some great photos from our exhibition that my Dad sent me. The last couple of Pop Ups and exhibitions I have been involved in haven't lined up with good moments for my parents to come down! It meant the world to have my family come see mine and Asha's work. But I have got say I think little Lily stole the show on her firsts dogs day out to the city!

Here we have the beautiful opening the final fabric we got printed! There has been a lot of work to get it to this stage and we are bloody over the moon with how it turned out!! It's not ready yet though now the fun bit starts!

Sweaty days stitching and bitching, you know how it is!! Goblin farms inbound!!

Doing this collab has been an amazing opportunity to delve back into some of my past passions. For a long time recently I have been focussed on getting the studio sorted and preparing things. Cutting patterns, designing and stitching mock-ups....

It has been great to take a pause and focus on watercolour painting with in mind turning the paintings into repeat prints for textiles!!
