Sue Foster Textiles

Sue Foster Textiles Sue is a textile artist and weaver. Sue originally trained as a weaver and has had a long association with Norwich Textiles.

She draws inspiration from both the weaving process and the finished cloth - combining colours and textures that are rooted in history. She has worked in collaboration with the Norfolk Museums and Archaeology service, to produce a collection ‘The Norfolk Museums Heritage collection’ which is a vibrant collection of designs in original colours dating from the 1790’s. k 'observations' is a collection of quirky images taken in and around Norfolk, capturing the essence of the county. Sue is also a keen weaver, and completed an MA in Textile Culture at the Norwich University College of the Arts in 2010.She regularly exhibits her work locally as part of the Seamless Textile Group. New work is investigating the theme of 'Inheritance'

Excited to be exhibiting as part of the Norfolk makers Festival at the Forum in Norwich.

Norfolk Makers Festival 11-19 March 2023 will offer nine days of inspiring exhibitions,
demonstrations, free activities, and workshops. This is a friendly and free-to-enter
celebration of both traditional skills and modern practice involving textiles and other crafts.
Everyone is welcome to come into The Forum to have a go at something new, develop
existing skills, chat to experts and enthusiasts, and enjoy a colourful and eclectic exhibition
of work created by local makers, giving you the opportunity to try your hand at something

Some images of work that I created for the North Norfolk Exhibition Project (NNEP) this year. the brief was 'the greater the distance the clearer the view'. My piece is a pillow describing dreaming, processing – snatching details and reflecting upon experience. The altered reality of these “dozens of far-off fragments” are personal images of my own thoughts and perspectives.
