Here at Get Crooked we are all about making garments to empower and feel fabulous because life is too short to be a wall flower, honey, and you deserve to feel great in what you wear. A lot goes into making every item here at Get Crooked: sourcing, pattern drafting, grading, sampling, cutting, manufacturing, finishing, and photography. All of this is done in our rainbow studio in the heart of Nottingham.

Honestly... the AUDACITY.

We put our heart, soul, time and approximately 847 little stitches into a custom order...
..and then they go and say THIS?!

Okay okay, we’re being dramatic. 😂

But honestly, THIS is why we love making custom pieces so much.

There’s nothing quite like putting all the little details together, sending a piece off into the world, and then getting a message back from the person who commissioned it saying they absolutely love it.

Every custom order is a little collaboration between us and the customer — their ideas, our fabrics, our creativity and a whole lot of love.

So thank you Jo Duncombe, for making our day. 💖

Things you’ll hear approximately 100 times when you’re trading at a festival 🌈🕺✨

Honestly, one of our favourite parts of trading is seeing who stops by the stand! You never quite know who’s going to have a chat, what they’re going to ask or where the conversation is going to go 👀

After doing a few festivals though, you definitely start to notice there are certain things you hear at pretty much every single one 😂

“A rhinestone shines just as good as a diamond.” 💎

We couldn’t think of a more fitting quote to remember Dolly Parton by.

She built an entire career around being unapologetically herself. Big hair. Big clothes. Big dreams. Big heart. She refused to tone herself down to fit somebody else’s idea of what was tasteful, respectable or acceptable.

And perhaps the most wonderful thing of all?

She really was a diamond.

A diamond absolutely encrusted in rhinestones. 💎✨

A true original. A woman who proved that you don’t have to choose between substance and sparkle, between being taken seriously and having fun, between being authentic and being fabulously, gloriously too much.

That is something we’ll always admire.

The world is a significantly duller place without you in it, Dolly.

So we’ll keep adding the rhinestones. We’ll keep choosing colour. We’ll keep being loud. We’ll keep making things that sparkle.

And we’ll keep remembering that sometimes the things the world calls too much are exactly what make it shine. 🌈✨

Because one of the most magical things about festival trading is the community you build around you. You arrive knowing a handful of people and leave feeling like you’ve somehow acquired an entire extended family.

You share meals, cups of tea, sore feet, laughs, late nights, early mornings and probably far too many drinks...

And somewhere along the way, you make proper friends.

The kind you know you’ll see again next year. The kind who become friends for life.

And we really, really mean that. 💛

So here’s a little peek behind the curtain at our little trader world — the chaos, the partying, the friendships and everything else that makes festival life so bloody magical.

Because the stall is only one little part of it.

And honestly... we wouldn’t have it any other way. 🌈✨

And just like that the 2026 festival season is over! 🙌

It’s been a blast…we’ve made lots of new friends, traded with some amazing small businesses and learnt so much!

This year was the first we’ve traded as a collective and let’s just say we loved it! 🩷
